emkz:
The project has been in the works since 1960. How could it have been possible that there was no EIA before? Arise News decided to make a mountain out of it to continue to promote their anti Tinubu agenda.

It is an important project to the Niger Delta people, the south-south and the south-west. The road has the potential of unlocking economic opportunities for the people of the zones.

So far, the following persons are against the project:

(1) Atiku Abubakar: Atiku after initially challenging the transparency of the project, called it a "highway to fraud". He asked that the cost be disclosed. He didn't ask for the project not to be done.

(2) Peter Obi: Still angling from the electoral defeat he suffered, he asked for the complete termination of the project. He claimed it would lead to job losses and would have no meaningful impact. He claimed millions of dollars of investments would be affected. He couldn't say where the jobs and investments were.

(3) Arise News:They have sustained a media onslaught against the project. First, they talked copiously about the project making Landmark lose investment and people losing jobs. When it became clear that only a marginal portion of Landmark was affected even though Landmark encroached on government assets and that the furore was over access to the beachfront by Landmark, Arise News shifted to ask Federal Government if Federal Government got a waiver on final approval for Environmental Impact Assessment from Federal Government. Now that Umahi clarified that they followed due process, Arise News will soon ask for the FEC memo that approved the project.

(3) Rufai Oseni: The bitter, arrogant, cretinous journalist-wannabe has fought this project from the get go. Rufai Oseni fought the student loan scheme, Lagos light rail project, subsidy removal and supported Emefiele using his naira repainting project to wipe off more than 15 trillion naira from the economy. As soon as Nigeria makes developmental strides, Rufai Oseni gets depressed. Rufai Oseni is anti-Tinubu, anti-Nigeria, anti-progress and anti-objective journalism. He used to always say "Nigeria is a joke", a statement that irritated his former colleague, Tundun Abiola, who.always cautioned him.

(4) The Obidient mob who are anti-development and anti-progress by nature.

(5) The owner of Landmark: He only needed to comply with the eviction notice like others, but decided to launch a negative press against the government that has affected him. He lied and is yet to apologize.

(6) The owner of Arise News: His personal hatred for Tinubu came to the fore during campaign season when he insinuated that Nigeria must avoid a Noriega moment. The saddest day in Arise News was when Tinubu was announced as the winner. Arise News has been used to promote an anti-Tinubu agenda. Unfortunately, his station has been unable to draw the line between promoting anti-Tinubu materials and working against the Nigeria people. The man had a personal interest in the 2023 elections and is the most controversial media owner in Nigeria.

For the future, let those in the south-west and south-south never forget politicians and fake journalists who are threats to regional progress and national cohesion.

So far, the following persons are in support of the project:

(1) Edwin Clark: He wrote a letter to Tinubu to congratulate him for kicking off the project.

(2) James Ibori: Ibori took to Twitter and Facebook to affirm Tinubu's courage towards bringing development to the Niger Delta region.

(3) All Niger Delta governors: In a meeting where Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa) and representatives of the governors of other Niger Delta states issued a communique read by Obaseki thanking Tinubu for moving forward with the project.

We expect more Niger Delta leaders and southwest leaders to come out in support of the project.

Now that EIA is done, expect them to start asking for FEC memos to satisfy their lust for chaos.

walahi you don't have sense.

That's how you people said Buhahri and Fashola were stealing money in the name of 2nd Niger bridge. We know your game.

That people can never be satisfied because they always feeling inferiority complex and insecure everywhere they go. Just because they do feel it must be them always. Imagine they said 2nd niger bridge is not so important!!! A project that has become bottle neck over decades. Thank God obi will never get close to presidency otherwise Nigeria will never record bigger projects because he has no idea. Governors after him in Anambra were building and commissioning projects but his own is to talk.

This government is not even serious. Why are you responding to nonentities like Peter Obi and his gang of online bandits?

EIA is now their problem. 99% of them haven’t even seen what EIA look like or heard about it before. But someone just open their brain and put nonsense there and they started shouting EIA.

So where is them asking for EIA for Lagos-Ibadan, second Niger bridge, every other roads constructed and etc.

From Landmark, now it’s EIA, tomorrow it will be PIB, then next tomorrow CNN.

It's bcoz the Lagos - Calabar coastal highway is not passing through Agulu.

Hardly did anybody accuse Buhari and Fashola for stealing money in the name of 2nd Niger Bridge.

Fashola is one minister anybody boldly comes out to accuse of stealing while holding forte as minister.

Obidients have created another buzz word on their whassap groups. It's EIA. They are screaming EIA all over twitter. grin

Little do they know that it's still Ministry of Environment that will get the EIA done.

It wasn't about who will do it, it was if it has been done because the ideal thing is to do it before work commences.

But you kind is not expected to know, while you are created to support anything whether legal or illegal.

Which common man is starving? The lazy ones. U people should better go and work. Land is available every where ,go to farm!
I always say it , look around you ,there is a challenge or challenges to monetize.
We are over dependent on the government, most people want to "Japa" they work like mad in the UK and US and there government is collecting about 75% back in the name of tax , it is only in Nigeria that the government must be responsible for and subsidise everything

Just shut up! The ones that are farming, is there anything good they're getting from their produce in this inflation ridden economy?

Asking people to go to farm where death is imminent due to terrorist activities is senseless and stupid.

I get paid 250k and it's not enough to take care of my family.

The way they are rushing the phase one of this project, I hope the same energy will propel them to get to Calabar.

I think the govt Minister - Hon Umahi- said that they will equally start from the Port-Harcourt-e D too!
Let's wait and see!
But any one who don't see the huge Economic potential of this 700 Km Coastal -Highways , passing through the 9 - States is deemed an enemy of Nigeria!

The road to Abuja from Benue is impassable. It is shorter to go through Benin and they go through Onitsha but Alas you don't have sense. Because you are not widely travelled. Also note that those from the south west where will they pass to the south east? Once again you don't have sense.

Why didn't your messiah advise buhari to fix the road instead of building 2nd niger bridge??

Envy and blind hate ??

Once again slowpoke I asked if niger bridge is the only point of entry into SE not where Sout west will pass.

i don,t understand why you can be this fantastically stupid and useless, the traffic from the western side of the Niger is the heaviest because of traffic from Benin and Delta and from South West. We were all here when NIWA said 60% of shipping entering the country finds it way to Onitsha and Aba, where will the trucks pass if not via Asaba bridge, with the current state not being able to hold that kind of vehicular traffic it is wise and strategic to have another bridge.
i am wondering how Envy and blind hate got here. you need to check yourself and cure yourself of the inherent hatred in you, this ethnic baiting is a criminal offence and this dog whistling of the igbos will land you in serious trouble.

I didn't bother reading all the rubbish you wrote.

So having a coastal road that will reduce traveling time from SW to SS with a rail system is a waste.

Have you think about how many hours its take to travel from Lagos to pH.

slowpoke listing why 2nd niger is important but blind to see the benefits that comes with the coastal road cos it doesn't pass his region.

Lastly that rubbish cheating and boasting of whistling with igbo will land me trouble is the joke of the year....your cownu is still in detention and you losers haven't done shit after the all the chest beating.

grin grin grin grin grin grin that coastal road is pure BS and in your heart but because you are hungry that is why you have sold your conscience for a pot of porridge. A road that even those posting maps of the so called are not even sure of the route of that same road. The amount for the road itself is so ridiculous. One kilometer of road costs one billion.
