Sorry for the avoidable stress you have through. Just talk to friend to help U get one or better still look for a prepaid print out receipt.

Though not too sure, you can use another bank statement in place of something like utility bill.

Tell them you don't want to do again. You want to close the account. If they don't agree, make a scene, ask for manager on top of your voice, remove your shirt, they will attend to you fast

Stop being naive . You where a part of a family b4 you embark on a journey to study at the University. You have family , relatives. ..Just call one of them to send you a copy of there prepaid ticket or just collect the meter number and buy unit online via opay or the electricity company in charge ....that way you will have the ticket to present . University us not specific address. Even staff of the University have home address

Opay won't generate Ur address on the transaction receipt. Just the meter name, token and transaction ID that's all...

Then visit some pos operators . They are many here in lagos . . They will collect your cash and printout a complete receipt that has the token number and address. They can only charge you Additional N100 or N200 for the service . Any pop operator can do that service

The account is a student account (tier 1) which was opened with minimal KYC and not suppose to receive more than 20k at once.

Either write a letter to close the account and have funds transferred to any other bank (commercial) account you own
OR

Fill a new address and provide that utility bill( address verification will be conducted).

Get the utility bill for your hostel

Take any recent utility bill from any address in that town. Say that it is your Uncle's place and you are there during weekends and holidays. And don't leave the bank till they free your account. Na madness dey worry all those banks.

Is due diligence that a bank staff would be asking me to describe how i would get 2 my house from the bank? What colour is the gate of my house? What do the people in the compound know me as? On top 70k whey I dey earn. How does that even contribute to protecting my money from scammers??
