Gunmen believed to be kidnappers are suspected of killing Johnbull Osagiede after receiving a ransom of N9 million from the victim's family in Edo State, as reported by Obasanjonews.com.

The tragic incident occurred at Evbohen quarters in Idumebo community within the Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the State.

The armed individuals reportedly stormed the community last Tuesday, abducted the victim, and transported him to an undisclosed location.

A source from the family revealed that the kidnappers contacted the deceased's wife, demanding a ransom of N15 million.

Initially, the family paid N3 million to the kidnappers, followed by an additional N6 million, totaling the amount paid to N9 million.

The ransom was delivered to the kidnappers at specified locations, but to the family's dismay, Johnbull Osagiede was still killed after the payment was made.

The deceased's body was discovered by the community vigilante group, dumped at Pipeline Road near Iguelaba community in the area. The incident was promptly reported to the Ugo Police Division by the community members.

When reached for comment, the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, mentioned that the command had not yet been informed about the situation.

He emphasized that the command would only be aware of the incident if it was officially reported to them.

Kidnapping has come to stay because our government is so proud of it. The government will never put a death penalty to the crime which has shattered families.

We keep hearing and reading stories about kidnappers using GPS and Thuraya. Who bought it?

Imagine the trauma the victim's family might have gone through raising the ransom.. and the pain of still losing the victim after payment..

Nigerians do not deserve to be going through this..
