The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently managing a fire outbreak at the newly rebranded NNPC Terminal, formerly OVH, located on Kayode Street, Marine Beach, Apapa.

The fire was triggered by a spillage of petroleum products within the tank farm's perimeter.

Multiple emergency response teams from the oil and gas sector are collaborating to contain the situation effectively.

We want to assure the public that the emergency response is under control and measures are in place to prevent further escalation.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Good response from the Lagos state fire service.

I can bet it's something avoidable that triggered this. How could the spillage have been avoided or contained better? What lessons will be taken from this to prevent a re-occurrence. Safety awareness needs to be better. I remember the day I saw a woman cooking with charcoal and an open fire around this terminal area.

That place, mmmm imagine no effective fire services around, na mini hell fire e go turn to, today.
The areas house many tanks and depots, including gas depos, and it can cause chain explosions that can affect neighboring military cantonments probably housing a lot of explosive devices . Apapa/Ajegunle/ijora people for hear am today. Thank God for the quick intervention. Those areas are not always safe.

Drill or real? Because fire can’t be burning next to a fuel depot and people will be standing around like that
