As most of know, the English version of Wikipedia has gone dark and will remain so for about 24 hours. The blackout is part of Wikipedia's effort to fight SOPA in the US (SOPA stands for Stop Online Piracy Act).

Without debating the merits of SOPA, here's how to read articles in Wikipedia now despite the blackout:

1. Search for your topic on Google
2. If the results include a Wikipedia link, click on the link
3. You will be taken to Wikipedia but will only see a black page
4. If you are using FireFox or IE, Right Click your mouse, then select View Page Source
5. Copy all the contents displayed in the Page Source and paste on a Web Editor. If you don't have a web editor, paste on Notepad and save with an htm extension
6. You can then view the contents of the page just as you would on Wikipedia

Well, you can ignore the steps listed above. The easiest way to access Wikipedia during the blackout is to hit the "Escape" button before the page loads. Do the same thing each time you go to a new page.

What about having javascript disabled

he he, all this trouble just to see an article that you can wait to see 24 hours later? or are you trying to say there aren't millions of other sites to get the same info from? cool

To me, this was a time for a competitor to clean their clock. There was tons of stuff I needed to research yesterday but I prioritized and if I really needed it, I googled for another site.
