Something tells me you're still a student. No offense.

Because if you've started working, u'll know that some job descriptions dont allow u to "leave" ur company and go out in search of food, or anything.... During working hours.

u just posted trash, no company does that without providing availability to such e.g there could be vendor officially established within the said company (2) the management might assigned someone to be supplying such from outside. however, if you still insist on your point, please cite examples

I work in a not-too-big establishment that is owned by my brother-in-law, we have a staff of 7 ladies, 4 guys including myself.

The problem i have is that these ladies whose job is largely secretarial thinks that given my connection with the CEO, that i am financially privileged, now, i'm just managing myself, albeit comfortably, but, there is no time i can have a single conversation with these ladies without me hearing something like, 'find something for me nah', 'hope you will find me weekend money', 'you be oga nah, your own better' and stuffs like that.

Recently, one of them celebrated her birthday at the office but brought no drinks, during the celebration, she blatantly asked me to bring #5000 to support her, i was like what? The whole thing is pissing me off.

I remember a day i told one of them to buy me sachet water, she asked me how an oga like me should be drinking sachet water and not a bottled water.

The new and most annoying trend now is that anytime i send them to get me food, which is sold between 250 and 350, they either do not get me any change or they tell me that the food vendor is owing them, and we know the rest.

Please nairalanders how best do i express my displeasure to them without being petty, while also sustaining their goodwill?

Mr op that's some nigeria girls for u o...anyway try discipline ur generosity, u got more important issues to attend to financially than them.....u sha won't kill ursef na because of those oshofree I neva chop kind of girls...as if they don't collect salary....bro learn how to say no to their faces they won't kill u at most they will only gossip and call u stingy guy, but will u give a damn ? I guess no cos that's what u re looking for sef....as for the food sending , stop it because they re fellow staffs and not errands girls and do take ur time to walk down there to eat during break or lunch time......goodluck bro.

So don't you have lunch breaks or are you expected to work the whole day without leaving your desk? Maybe it is your over-familiarity with the ladies that encourages them to take advantage of you. If you weren't depending on them to run errands for you then they won't have the opportunity to exploit you . Sometimes we are the architects of our problems. Exactly, the guy shld be bold enough to explain his situation to d ladies rather than d lamentation he doing here on nairaland.

I think you have a spiritual problem. They are not your babes, you don't sleep with them, they owe you nothing, lastly , u have a choice : life or death. You are fully able and you are asking this dumb question. What will you now do if one of them is your wife. People like you will eventually bring external entities to interfere into your marriage when there are issues. Nairaland for that matter. Seems you are even gay. Go and be a man and say no when u should. At this stage, u don't deserve the lowest level of leadership position. Grow up man. My opinion. An open rebuke is better than hidden love.

In my younger days of yore as a fresh graduate at a consultancy firm, the OP reminds me of myself. One day I was so broke I didn't know who to turn to. As I browsed through all my suits I saw some good money I never thought I had. Then I practiced over and over again how to say..... I can actually. But I won't. I practiced it so well I actually started saying it with a smile.
Try that OP. Say it to them. I can actually. But I won't. with a smile. You'd be glad you did.
Re: The Ladies In My Office Are Milking Me Dry. by linearity: 4:26pm On Jul 20, 2015
OP, you are the problem here, those two ladies are perfectly fine.

You cannot eat your cake and have it. They did not force the money out of you, they did not steal it, they did not defraud you.

You willingly gave them money, most likely with a smile on your face and with the aura of 'the big boss' at the same time, while enjoying the accolade, prestige, peer recognition, status, fame, greetings, blessings, prayers, thanks, etc that come with that gesture and now want to wish your money back.

Next time, simply say NO and deal with the rebuff and badmouthing or whatever that may result. Do not try to eat your cake and have it at the same time.

sometimes, i really wonder if some questions are worth asking nd answering. I believe u are their boss. You are giving them the impression and the go-ahead to do to you whatever they are doing. You should have made a point blank the moment they started working for you that you mean business and you are not any sort or form of an atm machine. You showed them how a weakling you are to say no and they are taking advantage of that..... It wont hurt to say no, besides you're the boss. Its high time you start behaving like one....

The advice for foxes is dangerous for chickens. One would expect talks of challenges of deflecting the 2much attention/pamper in the female-male office inequality not the other way around. So bro the above almighty 4mula may buhaha in ur faze. Starts 4rm NO' then more of NO. Then Almighty 4mula isnt a bad postpayment plan afterall.

Do you know that you have a right to keep what you earn? Bro exercise that right. Say No to them in a mature way "I will love to give but I am broke @ this time". End of discussion.

Bros u can teach some one how to lie oooo

SirLegal:
My broda, you don't have a problem at all.

Just say NO to one of them today(if the request money from you) and stand on the NO.
Tomorrow, if another one comes, start by telling her stories that touch like... the appliances in my house all burnt due to voltage, I was pick pocketed the day before etc. If you continue with this trend, the will surely give you some space.

And to those not returning your balance after purchasing stuffs for you, Free them abeg. A worker is entitled to her payment grin cool.

What is wrong with your legs and mouth? Why can't you go and buy your own food? I don't understand why a lot of Africans think because they are in a higher position they should use those below them as their servants. Get off your behind and go and buy your own food. Also if you don't have money what is so difficult in telling them you cannot keep on spending money on them.

bros u see that kind thing?

I don't see a problem. Tell them the real situation about your position... Not like it's their right though. If they desist to understand fine, a blatant NO should do the job next time. Sending them on food errands not a good idea if you asked me... Those kind babes fit lipsrsealed you. If you must send em... Ensure that you have naira in just that amount... You know what I mean. If you decide to reap the brother way... Life go tire you. Actually I don't see a problem
