I’ve been in many anointing services, most times in Living Faith Church (aka Winners Chapel). The oil I see being used has always been olive. In many of the church members home, it has always been “Goya Olive oil”.

In the ordination of the “Men of God” in church, the oil used for the anointing has always been Olive. If there isn’t olive oil, the ordination cannot be done.

My question is that can’t other oil like palm, coconut, cinnamon, palm kernel, melon et al be used?
Or are there specific properties present in Olive oil which other oils do not possess making it fits only for anointing?

Another problem I have with the olive oil is that the anointing purpose has rendered it unfit for cooking, the last time I talked about it being used for cooking, the seller was so amused and told me Olive is not meant for that.

My own concern is that original olive oil is a rarity. what most people call olive oil these days are sunflower oil packaged as olive oil

I use massage oil by Durex.
