The phrase "What God can not do does not exist" has become very popular.
This thread is a response to the latest of such usages on Nairaland.

In Matthew 19:26 & Mark 10:27, the Bible says: But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Jesus was responding to the Apostles' bewilderment about the DIFFICULTY of salvation.
So literally, Jesus was saying that with God, every problem has a solution.

Here are Five things that EXIST but God can not do.

1. God cannot lie.
Does lie exist? YES!! Almost everywhere!
But God cannot tell a lie. Numbers 23:19

2. God cannot change.
Does change exist? YES!! We are experiencing it in Nigeria right now!
But God cannot change. Malachi 3:6, James 1:17.

3. God cannot deny himself.
Does denial exist? YES!! Almost every other day, people deny others as well as themselves. Promises are denied. Commitments are denied. Responsibilities are denied.
But God can never deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13.

4. God cannot fail.
Does failure exist? YES!! People fail people. Leaders fail followers. Parents fail children. Friends and confidants fail.
But God can never fail. Joshua 21:43-45.

5. God cannot overlook sin.
Does overlooking of sin exist? YES!! Commit an offence and be in the good books of the people who have the power to punish you and the offence will be overlooked.
But God can never overlook sin. Ezekiel 18:20, Romans 6:23.
The only way to escape death from sin is to repent genuinely and accept Jesus Christ.

So, there you have it.
What God cannot do actually exist.
But...
A problem that God cannot solve does not exist.

Overlooking sin is different from forgiving sin.
God forgives those who come to genuine repentance and abandon the ways of sin.
Once in a while, we fall short of His glory but we must quickly run to Him and acknowledge our shortcoming and ask for forgiveness.
God will surely forgive us.
But if we do not go back to God, hoping he'll overlook our sin because we are his children, that will never happen.
You here people say things like: "God will understand" after they've committed a sin. Such things are dangerous as the thing God understands is that a sin is a sin and can only be forgiven through genuine repentance.
God will not say "Oh, this man has been very righteous, let me just overlook this small sin of his even before he acknowledges and repents from it".
