Households are forced to allocate an ever-increasing portion of their income towards basic necessities, leaving little room for savings or investment in the future. This dire situation not only undermines the well-being of our people but also threatens the social fabric of our community.

We must recognize that these challenges are not isolated incidents but symptoms of broader systemic issues. As leaders and influencers in Akungba, we have a responsibility to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote economic stability and social welfare.

This includes engaging in constructive dialogue with relevant stakeholders, advocating for fair pricing practices, and exploring innovative solutions to alleviate the financial strain on our residents.

Therefore, I implore all landlords and business owners to exercise restraint and compassion when determining rent and pricing for essential goods.
