You people should normalised calling places like this "city"...if you see where Yorubas call cities in their region you'll even call Oron a mega city.

Normalize that

Same thing now, no light. Was there earlier this month.

A nice place to be. They got clean roads and varieties of food.

You need to make Sure Oron would be on the Lagos Calabar Highway and Railway for a Start

Gather all your Traditional Rulers ,go ,Camp in front of his Office and beg Tinubu if you have too, your Future Generations will thank you for it

Madam, that's my mom's village, would it stop being her village because it's now a city?

BTW it's even more developed than my current location and where I stay is a mega town.

It is what it is....

The place looks nice.. just that the oil allocations and revenue is not reflecting from structures visible there.

it is on record that Oro is the highest oil producing community in Nigeria and if not internal and external politics against Oro, Ibaka seaport would have swallowed every seaport in Nigeria

Akwa ibom is bless with good roads. It's one of the reasons, I still respect former governor Godswill Akpabio.

I served there, the place is nice and they have good road network, but I was disappointed no be wetin I been dey expect wey I see, upon all the oil money they have, it's still a growing city sha, it's not as developed as Lagos, Portharcourt, Onitsha, or even Ibadan.

Who told you Oron is the third largest city in Aks?

Now be counting.
1. Uyo
2. Eket
3. Ikot Ekpene
4. Abak

The competition is between Ikot Abasi and Oron
Ikot Abasi has competitive advantages over Oron being:
Federal University just got sited 3 years ago. So the development would kick in.
Alscon or Ibom FTZ might just succeed and give the town a boost
Quote close to BUA refinery.

Oron is our own version of brown roof town.

But just imagine setting up the kind of fishing industry I do see on Discovery Family.. 🤔

I think your Ibadan is a brown roofs city.
Oro is boasting of some of the oldest secondary schools in Nigeria. Methodist Boys High school was founded in 1905 and Mary Hanny Secondary school was founded in Oro 1909
I won't fail to mention Methodist primary school founded 1905. Methodists Church, Catholic church, Presbyterian church etc were established in Oro earlier and the monuments are there for all to see
