Will I Be Able To Get A Decent Laptop For 250k? by LEEUWENHOEK: 2:01pm On May 10
Good day peeps, please I only have a budget of 250k, what laptop can I get for this price.

I need a laptop with good battery life and decent processor. I would be using it primarily for school works and for my web development learning.

Of course I know my best bet would be UK used ones.

Thanks.

250k is more than enough to get you a good UK used laptop. Beware of scammers though.

It's good money. Good luck in your search. You can get a good brand-new system on Konga, Jumia or whatever online shop Nigeria runs.

A Lenovo Thinkpad would suffice.

You can be on the lookout for a T480. Please note the alphabet. It is a T, not E or L or Ideapad.

T480’s price has been going up lately. T480 is a 14 inch laptop. If you want a 15 inch, you can pick the T580 lenovo. Same internals, just a bigger screen and a bigger keyboard with number pad. This would cost you almost 10k more.

T580 is still cheaper and you should get a clean one at least 8gb RAM and at least 256GB SSD within your budget. Dont get HDD. If you can get 16gb and 512GB in that range, the better.

When getting the laptop, please ensure the following:
The screen is 1080p or more. Full HD and not HD
The BIOS is not locked.
Computrace is not activated on the BIOS
There is no active supervisor password on the BIOS
Ensure it has backlit keyboard. Test before paying.
Confirm it is SSD.
i5 or i7 intel will work.
Check battery and ensure it has two batteries. If one battery, skip.

Your budget is more than enough if it is for only web dev and school work, but i recomend going for a PC with very good spec, it may come in handy in the future

I'm sorry, is there a difference between a PC and a laptop?

PC stands for Personal Computer. It's just a generic name for a non-Apple computer that is personal to you. You can have a desktop PC or laptop PC or both.

Most a times, a PC refers to a desktop setup which includes a monitor, speakers, mouse and keyboard. But it is just an abbreviation for Personal Computer
