STENACO:

What is the difference between HESA and SAQA. This whole is compounded. They have my documents for the past 2month every day they say it is still not fully processed.

Do I withdraw the application?
The difference is clear, (HESA)Higher Education South Africa, is an organization found in 2005 to represent the voice of South Africa’s university leadership, the body represents 23 Vice Chancellors of public universities in South Africa. (SAQA) South African Qualifications Authority on the other hand is the only authority empowered by law to evaluate foreign/international qualifications for the purpose of admission placement/study permit.

Since you did not attach that before submission, there is nothing you can do now but it won't lead to denial, the purpose of that is to show legitimacy of your employment with a registered company. I just hope the person in charge of your application will understand looking at other attached documents and i do hope your monthly salary reflect on your statement of account?

On the four occasions, didn't you apply yourself? Anyway, once you get a letter of introduction from your company, there is not need to include any personal letter of introduction but make sure you include your Visa Application Letter and try to include paid hotel reservation to avoid any chance of denial. You don't seem to have problem, your application will be treated as frequent traveler.

[SINGING] I wanna be like collinsfbi when I grow up
And after that 9ja's ambassador to da Southside
Collins - fbi... is the man oooo

Umm ok e don do. I get one questions, or two question, abeg o. I want to apply ahead of time to go watch the AFCON live in SA. The official requirements include "verifiable flight/hotel bookings," but they also advise applicants not to make final/conclusive arrangements before the visa is granted. Is this a contradiction? Pls how can I get a verifiable flight/hotel booking without paying for them and making them "final"?

Also, pls collinsfbi, my intended stop is J'burg. Do you have any suggestions for very affordable hotel(s) that I can book directly with, which won't rip me off (or maybe an internet link that can lead me to such hotels)?

Thanks in advance...

You need a paid hotel confirmation to apply for SA tourist visa or a letter of invitation from SA citizen in alieu of hotel booking and this can be done online, all you need to do is search online for a cheap hotel, check their mode of payment then arrange for payment. As for flight booking, you don't need a paid flight itinerary to apply for visa, what you need is just a flight reservation and that can be done easily online free by using either Arik Air or South African Airways a day before your submission day.

That also can be done online using any search engine of your choice. I am sorry, just that i am somehow busy.

There may be some elements of doubt since you did not include the CAC of your place of work and your salary did not relect in your SOC, but since your letter of introduction has outlined that, i think that should be okay, meanwhile, i don't work at SA embassy so I may not be able to say exactly the implications but i think your letter of introduction has covered up for the salary aspect.

Hello everybdy, well I went to southafrica 2009 and I stay 49days instead of staying one month and when I was leavin s.a. They gave me some papers and intructed me to pay 1000rands when I get to naija then but I didn't paid the money as they said it was due to my overstay and right now I intend to renew my visa so I can visit south africa again on my way to the UK. Just wondering if that won't affect my renewal.

hello house,
I had earlier posted my experience with study permit application on Nov. 19 at d lagos consulate(cheq pg 8 of this thread). I was askd 2 present a saqa evaluation which i KNOW is NOT needed 4 SA study permit. Afta my experience in lagos i made up my mind to head to abj despite claims on this thread that requirements are the same. Well,d truth is,they are not and in fact, saqa is not a requirement for study permit like i sd. Afta my lagos experience,i mailed my sch requesting 4a copy of d saqa report dy used to assess my qualification telling them my need 4 it. D response ws dt 'home affairs dept doesn't require it and dt d embassy officials probably does not know wt is required.' i did my own info seach online and challenge evry1 to independently do same, their is nothing of such as requirement 4 SA Study permit.
I hv submited my aplicatn&paid at d abj office on d 26th and d attendant neva demanded 4 it 4m evry1 who did along side.
D saqa stuff is quite controversial and i strongly blive d embassy officials in lagos are being unecessarily difficult,4m d gatemen, police and d embassy staff. D goodnews is abj is stress free,4m d gate&beyond(no police&d security men were friendly unlike lag).
Dy have a new office opp EU Commission at cenral area(around The Dome and National Hospital).time 4 study permit is btw 11am-12pm 4 aplicatn&enquiries,3pm 4 collection. U can give it a trial if getting saqa is a problem 4 wateva reasons bt u shuld use an abj or northern addres on d applicatn form,if nt dy culd send u to lag by claiming abj office is 4 pple living in d north.its worth. Peace!

I may not be right but there are tendencies that you may be denied. That may be used as an excuse to deny you, using ordinary hotel reservation without payment may lead to automatic denial. It simple means you have no confirmed place of abode upon arrival.

Sometime people take things for granted, why didn't you pay the money ever since? If not for the fact that you intend to visit SA again, I am sure you won't think of paying such money and that can still stand against as visa is just a privilege and not a right. On this, I may not be able to tell you exactly what to do but I will advise you to pay the money then include the receipt in your new application, you can even right a letter attached to the receipt stating your inability to make such payment in time even if you eventually get the visa, you may still have the same problem on arrival but I think if the payment is made, ordinary explanation can resolve the issue of late payment upon arrival if you encounter any problem.

Brother take it easy, don't conclude yet base on my comment, i have told you before that i don't work with SA embassy, i only give advice generally base on experience and what i know. From experience SA embassy usually honour paid hotel confirmation rather than ordinary reservation, even at that you cannot conclude until your passport is ready for collection.

Was it a letter they gave you or form Bl-1731 used to pay administrative fine for overstaying? From what i know, administrative fine for overstaying is payable at South African Ebmassy of your home country, just go along with your passport to SA embassy and not their application centre maybe another form can be issued to you if you explain to them that you have lost the one given to you on departure.

I don't know what to say to this, i believe all South African Application Centres follow the same rules but i wonder how Abuja rules are quite different from the rules in operation even in South Africa based on your explanation above. No Nigerian here in SA Africa is granted study permit without SAQA certificate except you possess HESA excemption certificate most especially if the duration for your course of study is more than one year. Let us know when you get the permit if you really applied for study permit.
