Oko Federal Prison In Benin Bombed

Suspected criminals today bombed the federally-operated maximum security prison in Oko, Edo state. The attack carried out unidentified person reportedly triggered escape by some inmates.

Anonymous security sources said that the attackers bomber the gate of the prison after which they exchanged gunfire with prison guards on duty.

We could not ascertain the number of escaped inmates or casualty at the facility as SaharaReporters calls to the police commissioner in the state were not answered

Boko haram blast open oko prison in benin, the aim for this dastardly act has not been confirmed, as speculation has it that they intended to free members of their sect caught in other state and transfered to benin prison. Apart from their members escaping, members of notorious kidnapping group apprehended by the police, as well as notorious criminals are said to have escaped. Leaves the question' Nigeria- which way?'

One of the culprits have been apprenhended by security agencies. But this leaves me a thought, why have we not enacted laws on a shoot to kill operation, when one is caught with enough reason to confirm him a boko haramist. Atleast it ensure i less terrorist. My thought

I live near the prison. Heard the loud bang then series of shots. Was just discussing with my wife about the incident when I saw this post.

So it is only BokoHaram that knows how to make/use bomb in Nigeria now
