Do You Think File Sharing Sites Like Megaupload Should Be Banned? by Princejaponais(m): 9:39pm On Nov 16, 2012
Everybody in the internet download world is sure aware that MegaUpload the file sharing site was closed due to copyright infringement. But news coming in indicates that Kim Dotcom the founder is set to relaunch the site in January albeit with a new website name: mega.co.nz.
Kim Dotcom attempted to resurrect MegaUpload by hosting it through a Gabonese based domain. But the Gabonese pulled the plug on it for fear of being accused of sponsoring piracy.
The new site is set for a launch by January with New Zealand as its home. Main changes that will be included in the new domain include:
• Not making use of any U.S hosting companies
• Use of private encryption keys and globalized cloud storage to skirt around same legal issues that led to its shutdown
Watching out for it.

The subject of Megaupload is one that has affected the entire internet community at large. It all boils down to the issue of piracy of movies, music, pictures & application software. This requires an individual to do a little soul searching. Is piracy stealing ? Would you pay your hard earned cash to buy those music or softwares you are using if giving a means to ? Those and a lot other are questions that one must ask oneself. MegaUpload and other Cyberlockers/Filehosts where simply pirated digital distribution centers where uploaders where rewarded with money based on the number of downloads of their uploaded contents usually pirated media. Therefore, i can see how they can get into trouble with US authorities who are main producers of such media. Personally, i support MegaUpload and KimDotcom. What the US authorities are doing goes beyond the simple issue of piracy. I download a lot of my digital needs from the internet free. From music to the latest movies to application software etc. And i haven't paid a single dime for it. Am i proud of it, NO, will i stop doing it, NO !!!

I pay a hell of a lot for my media. I spent over £1000 just on games and other media this year alone. You find that a lot of these media, games, movies, music etc. are simply not worth it. They cost too much, offer too little in regards to reuse and are constantly trying to get you to spwnd more and more.

Illegal downloading is not right but it is much more appealing. I believe however that they will soon be phased out by diferent solutions. In gaming, services like steam have really reduced illegal downloads in certain games.

You said it all bro...It costs a lot downloading those things legally and they have most time no reusable value. In this aprt of the world we love free download sites. Even when owning an Iphone the first that comes to mind is to jailbreak so as to have free access to the appstore and download whatever. So i see no ending to the free file sharing sites. I use to love limewire a lot, infact it was my favourite for music download until it was shut down.
