Trust me that the real amount is up to N100billion, they need to exclude the ones that top directors and national assembly will loot before releasing the depleted figure to the public.. even this figure self, quarter will also be looted by those who will spend the money on audio projects in the country
Only good thing about announcing that figure is the fact that aspect of revenue generation can now be up for scrutiny. But that figure, for the said period, is quite laughable.

For better accountability, technology should be deployed so as to substantially plug holes for revenue leak.

Just how would you explain it if me, that's somewhere far below, pays as much as #4,000 in a month for transfers as stamp duty, when they are well over a million account holders doing greater volumes than I do.

Then what about Corporate entities? Just too many thieves in high places to stifle the growth and progress of this country.

Fluke!
Elsewhere like Japan and China, it will be credited to Nipost and never FIRS.
That is why Chinese Postal can easily finance banks.

This policy was forced down the throat of Nigerians effortlessly without any resistance.

This present day government is a good representation of what the devil does. Gives you a small morsel and takes away your entire food storage.

Am thinking of pulling my resources from banks or close transaction with all the banks I bank with and focus on only one because I can't continue to pay stamp duty and other charges and taxes for ordinary savings accounts.

After cutting taxes from salary, Covid19 VAT, you still expect one to pay stamp duty from the savings. This government is antihuman.

Scrutiny by who abeg?

Oga, in this Nigeria, nobody can scrutinize any government cos the government is the judge, accused and defendant, lawyer, law maker, accountant, auditor, tax collector and bribe collector and sharer of stolen funds, so who wants to scrutinize

Make we talk other better things ojere, that money is no longer available for public use the moment it was generated

Since so much is being made from suffering Nigerians, isn't it time to reduce Stamp Duty, to lessen the burden on Nigerians during this difficult period?

Quite sad I was only looking at the ideal situation, where those vested with the responsibility of oversight would ask probing questions, but no!.....I still sure know that no ideal situation can be replicated in Buhari's Nigeria.

But, thankfully, by Heavens help, we are making incremental progress and breaking limits on a steady. So, however badly they rig the system, we are firmly rooted under the shadows of the Almighty, and our supplies shall never run dry.

This guy has done what FOWLER couldn't do.

You are a very lousy thinker, what has he done? Mallam does not come when things are hard and requires hard thinking, they only come to chop. They only come when money is coming, it is that time they remember no northerner has occupied that position. Was he there for several years when the issue of stamp duty which was not declared for several years by banks was brought out by the founder of School of Banking Honours (SBH), this was introduced to Senator Buruji Kashamu while in the Senate. That was the beginning of the processes that led to active advocacy and recovery of stamp duty before the Finance act 2019 was passed that placed much emphasis on it. All these happened after several consultants have done various jobs on it. He was never part of any of these processes. No sector of the economy globally had made positive impact this year.

Another huge tax is coming from telecom sector (call, SMS, POS transaction, pay TV). All these are taxes that Fowler had worked extensively upon their contributions to tax collected by FIRS and sought approval for their collection in 2019 after mechanism for their collection has been designed. They only bring you to use after which they dump you.

After all these statements, what is the metric for measuring performance in that office? The only one I know is how much did you collect as revenue collector. The man has done far better than FOWLER

From January to May

I refuse to believe Nigeria is poor

Nigerian isn't poor, is just that money isn't circulation.

Nigeria a country where they milk the poor to enrich the politicians, Las Las the governments will share the 66 billion amongst themselves.

That is primitive herdsmen school of thought judgement. The foundational analysis and building block was laid by somebody, somebody invested ideas and resources, he was removed when the yield is coming. You only came to reap what you did not sow, the labour of Nigerians in pains effortlessly. Is there any business making profits? This is not a tax on turnover, but on transactions.

Tomorrow if tax on calls, sms, pos transactions and pay TV yields hundreds of billions despite businesses and movement lockdown for months, wil you now judge performance on the amount collected at a period Nigerian cargo was unsold for months at sea and many lost their jobs and government all over the world are given palliative to citizens for survival on technology tax collected automatically through software integrated on those platforms? Then that is foolishness if you don't appreciate those who put the system in place. That is why University of California yearly budget is higher or the same as Nigerian budget for the same year, because most Nigerians are just existing and not living. A person who reasons like an animal is an animal.

Keep typing on cheap data.
Fowler also benefited on records of others. In a query to him, he realized revenue below that of his predecessor when denominated in USD.
Oga for once accept this guy has dusted Fowler's acclaimed success.
