Forget about Naira floating and subsidy removal one other great factor pushing up food prices and stifling economic activities is insecurity Today, almost in all states in Nigeria, farmers are afraid to go to their farms because of arms bearing Fulani herdsmen The FG always keeps mute when these terrorists kill and kidnap farmers, even some people in the FG are part of the covert plan to spread armed Fulanis nationwide on fulanization drive. What has Tinubu done differently? before the end of this year, you all will be buying a paint of garri for N10,000. 5 Likes |

Fryx:Your brain might really be useless to you. Whatever responsibilities CBN has got, stabilizing the economy via effective policy making and cogent economic advisory is one of them. Maybe you think CBN is only mandated to print money. If you dont know how the economy of a state works, shut up. The CBN is one of the major decison makers in economy of the country. It can not claim ignorance if the economy fails. |

Lovit:there's terrorism under Buhari, price of things dint go this haywire. The subsidy removal, floating the naira killed the economy. It's common economics that only a producing and exporting economy should float. Secondly you can't produce without having stable electricity and reduced cost of production. The govt removed subsidy and the cost of producing almost everything went up. Imagine you're a producer and you rely heavily on the use of petrol to produce, if you spend 5000 to produce daily, today your cost of same production using same quantity of fuel will be about 20000. Your cost of production has gone up, but the quantity you supply to the market has reduced cos the purchasing power of the people has also reduced. This is the main issue facing Nigeria. 2 Likes |

Increasing MPR to the level it is now is not a good idea because it makes it harder for businesses to borrow which leads to reduced economic activities and worse unemployment. Why should banks risk lending to the private sector when they can simply buy TBs and earn good rates? CBN should reduce the MPR and work with the fiscal authorities on more sustainable ways of stabilising the naira:increasing oil production and eliminating oil theft, serious support for local manufacturers, tackling insecurity which is affecting food production etc 1 Like |

Fryx:Is it Tinubu that asked them to embark on the worst policy ever where people use money to buy their own money which did not only lead to shrinkage of businesses but to the death of people as a result the hardship their foolish policy caused? And is coming out to cry to the media by the CBN the solution to the current economic challenges? Use your brain if it is still functioning. |

see mumu APC o, Tinubu has been attacking the energy sector since d day he was sworn in, it is not called energy sector for calling sake, fuel is energy, electricity is energy, a strong naira is energy. This mumu man made sure he did nothing else than making sure fuel is out of reach, electricity is out reach and inflation is on a continuous increase, yet dem mofos are expressing surprise that Nigerians and economic activities are dying. What can you do without energy? 2 Likes |

The first day tinubu comes to power the economy destroyed through fuel subsidy. He then came with palliative to cushion the affect of the fuel subsidy it was then I know this man doesn't understand economics. And to think of it alot of educated people were praising him for a bold step. I was one of those who start preparing from the shocks that await Nigeria because I saw everything before now. They called us obident. To have wisdom to govern is not by education but by deep thinkers and wisdom. No doubt buhari was a failure. But he was by far better than tinubu. The problem with buhari was the people around him who hijacked the government and corruption. He didn't started well after causing Niger Delta avengers and economy slide into recession and he then moved to cattle colony. So many mistakes but one thing he had wisdom on was not to increase things anyway. 2 Likes |
