You're sending the right message to invesors esp foreign investors.

If a govt wanna destroy your business, it can change the original route of a road and say its for public good. Govt can always come up with reasons, its called federal might. However,
people are taking note

It is clearly stated in Nigeria land use law......No sensible foreign/local investors won't thoroughly read the act , before embarking on any investments..... ..
Re: Bolaji Ariyo’s Mamichula Beach Lost Virtually Everything For Coastal Highway by 9jatriot(m): 4:41pm On May 02
I saw a thumbnail of the video but the point is that many roads can be done concurrently. Here is the thread of attention already paid to that road in spite of the coastal road. https://www.nairaland.com/8073918/edo-residents-thank-tinubu-akpakomiza

My point is, that one project does not have to stop for the other. If the money is not spent then the chances of it being stolen becomes too high.

I watched a video on how dilapidated Benin-Auchi-Ekpoma federal road this morning. Wish I can share the video.

"On the funding structure, Mr Umahi said the project is not a PPP but rather an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC+) structure, which means that the federal government must produce counterpart funding."

The above submission is from premiumtimes. Even though government has tried to deny the aspect PPC, one wonders what they mean by "counterpart funding ". Again why award such contract to Hitech when we have reputable firm like Julius Berger? Well let's watch and see how things unfold.

A large chunk of the money (more than 90%) is coming from the private consortium. Julius Berger will not bring their money to finance such a project. They always prefer over-bloated contracts that are 100% paid by the government.

There is a reason Abacha dumped them for Strabag.

That your Second paragraph is very important. Igbo youth are more informed and Igbocentric that Yorubas.

Yorubas too get bastards! Chai!

The Igbo youth are not more informed than the Yorubas. What you called Igbocentric is self centeredness and racism the extreme traits of tribalism. I and my other two friends that visited the Beach about 10 days ago spent 6 years in IBO land. In fact we visited the place because of the demolition. We found out only fragment part of Landmark on the beach is affected. There are other facilities there belonging to other people that are affected. We know them (IBOS) some decades ago as students.

The benefit of that road to Lagos development is immeasurable. It is more than 5000% of what that IBO man landmark is making there.

The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) in 2021 advised Buhari to consider allowing the IBOS to go. IBO man cannot come to Lagos to dictate development to us. The entire place would have been submerged if not for the courage and resilience of Tinubu and the Chagoury brothers.

The IBO man that created nuisances and embarrassment to Tinubu and the entire Lagos people because of Lagos Beach did not realize that the entire place was extension of Maroko before. People were living there. Raji Rasaki demolished Maroko. My father and many other people have houses at Maroko that were destroyed.

Professor Soyinka is very old now. The Yoruba elites need to unite to chart a course for Yorubas out of Nigeria. Tinubu's presidency will expose a lot of things to the elites now.

It is now very clear that Chinedu cannot rule Lagos. We have seen where they are going.

Mami Chula is a much bigger resort, Landmark is like a mushroom business in comparison to Mami Chula yet Mr Ariyo is not blackmailing the federal government. The most worrying thing is that the victim mentality is eating deep into their younger generation.
And how much people don't know them.

Blind fool.

You want to compare, landmark where foreigners visit consistently with a mini beach, patronized by agbero. And prostitutes. You must really be insane.

It is obvious you haven't been to landmark, because there are no rooms for beggers like you. To harass walk in customers.

Victim mentality is a sick game

Whenever Lagos state decides to carry out projects, why must they be the only one screaming every time . One will begin to wonder that they are the only ones in Lagos. We have over 200 tribes represented but only one keep crying wolf over victimization.
This isn’t cool at all… so so not cool

The problem is mainly with the Yorubas because of our culture and upbringing. They cannot try that in Kano or Kaduna or even Suleja. Late Dr Fasheun (OPC founder) collected money from IBOS to fight Lagos State Government during Tinubu and Fashola era because of Ladipo Market. Now, Ladipo Market is very rowdy, chaotic and unorganized. They have bastardized the whole place. I suspect after the death of Dr Fasheun OPC founder it is possible the IBOS have approached Gani Adams to defend them. The earlier a decision is taken the better. If Dr Fasheun the OPC founder had allowed Fashola to sanitize the market, situations of things cannot get to this level.

The elites need to get together to chart a course for the Yorubas out of Nigeria.

Nigeria is far from being a country. Everything is looked at from tribal lens. What point is this OP trying to prove?
Why cant government start this road construction from sections that are outside of cities?
If the road is indeed going to take 30years to complete why start where business that supports people's livelihood would have to be demolished? It doesn't matter who owns it, private enterprise should not be destroyed unless absolutely unavoidable.

Sorry Mr. Bolaji Ariyo.. your tribe failed you. Umahi reduced the corridor along the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway to protect Landmark resorts owned by his Igbo brother but demolished everything belonging to a Yoruba man right inside Lagos. They are using Ministerial portfolio for tribalism.

They are wired that way.

I know a tertiary school in Yoruba land that has state of origin associations that enable students interact with their respective state governments for benefits like student bursary and after school state job offers etc.

It was the Igbo students that still went ahead to form Igbo Students Association.

What was the need for?

To satisfy that innate clannish DNA.

Igbos are not ashamed about their tribal inclination. They do not hide it. They are very vocal about it even in another tribe's domain.
