Why can't we just extend the House Arrest (and business shutdown) till the end of the year. If this is how thugs and terrorist are operating in the SW, people will not be rushing here to live and start business. 1 Like |

Didn't click on any silly link, but i'd be surprised if Emma Powerful, the recognised IPOB spokesperson, put this out! It's a known fact that enemies of Ndigbo use the issue of 'sit-at-home' to mount attacks and try to maintain a hightened spate of insecurity in the region, so though it would have been noble and justified to remember our dead, i think any sit-at-home should be suspended for now until futher notice! That being said, i wouldn't be surprised if the ekpa turncoat has something to do with this....that is if the report is genuine! But why would a Igbo-hating Yoruba man rush to nairaland and post 'news' of 'sit-at-home' in the south-east!? Make of this what you may! |

Those who never care when herdsmen slaughter people in the East like recently in Nimbo, will come here to wail about how bad it is for us to sit at home and remember the millions we lost in the war 1 Like |

gidgiddy: Is sit at home the best way to remember those that died in the war? Countries are doing remembrance Day in honore of those who died in their struggle or war without having to lock up their people inside their homes. And why should ipob decide and enforce their will on others? |

Re: Biafra Civil War: IPOB Declares Sit-at-home May 30 by gidgiddy: 4:04pm On May 02 |
paramakina202: It would be good to come out and publicly remember the dead, however, Nigeria is not a civilised country. Sir at home only started because the security forces kept shooting those who came out. On 30th of May, they will be out again in force. Better fir people to stay in their homes and remember than to go out and get killed by the security forces |

gidgiddy: There is nothing wrong if IPOB as a group decides to sit at home on the 30th of May to commemorate those who died before and during the Biafra war but it should not be imposed on non members of Ipob since there was no consensus among generality of ndi Igbo on the subject matter.Igbo christians may prefer to hold Church service on that day in honour of the dead.Other group may choose different ways to respect the dead rather than lock themselves indoors. What is it with sit at home and IPOB? No civilise human being in this century will lock down a region of over 24 million people for any reason even at war time. |

Re: Biafra Civil War: IPOB Declares Sit-at-home May 30 by gidgiddy: 5:53pm On May 02 |
paramakina202: IPOB does not impose sit at home, they call for it. Its up to the people to comply or not, but generally, people comply. Sit at home has become one of the very few ways in Nigeria which people can do something publicly, without putting themselves at risk of being killed by the security forces Come 30th May, as usual, the security forces will start running around everywhere in the East. Anyone who goes out on that day will put himself at risk of being killed them. I hope our people follow Igbos advice and just stay safe at home |

gidgiddy: Why are police or other security agents not shooting people during Igbo day celebrations? Anyway any form of dictatorship in Igboland will be resisted.Sit at home or no sit at home should never be enforced on the people against their wishes.Ekwuchalam o. |
