Even in the USA during the time of slavery there were.white slaves.

STOP spreading lies.

There were NEVER white slaves in the US.

What you had was indentured Irish servants not slaves.

Am afraid hundeyin is right.

Nigerian tribes were not united polities before colonoal rule. The igbos were divided onto several polities based on groups of villages, and all practicing a local form of democracy ( not universal suffrage mind!) with no king or central authority. Some parts were even run by the Edos (see olaudah equaino's writings)
. Yourba land was a decentralized empire. Hausa land was made up of several kingdoms which until uthman Dan fodio conquered them fought against each other and other tribes

And they were made up of warlords who captured and enslaved people from other tribes and their own tribe

Like I said, the English too used to enslave their own people. The Vikings had more white slaves than slaves from elsewhere. And so on.

Slavery has always been big man enslaving weak man. Forget common tribal and racial bounds. Even in the USA during the time of slavery there were.white slaves.
White slaves in the US? That's news to me

Igbo is topic everywhere. Please Igbo is not the only tribe in Nigeria. Focus on burning issues. Nigeria is collapsing right in front of us and we are busy talking about tribes! Anyways, social media is far from the real world!

So when Igbos insult others they should keep quiet?

Did you even noticed that David Hundeyin was only replying to that Igbo guy's insults??

Which in some way was basically slavery.

We can agree to disagree here.

Because some are always to forward. It was a different thing Hundeyin was talking about before the usual chest beating and too much talk introduced tribal dimension to the talk.

David then went full in and now you are complaining. Didn't you notice David's tweet was a response to someone?

David is just a typical agbadox. British government didn't invade Igboland because of slave trade. Same excuse they use in America that the North fought the South because they wanted to end slavery in the South. Another example, Nigerian government fought Biafra because they wanted to help SS, Lol, when we all know it was all about resource control. Likewise, British government at the time wanted to gain control of Igboland, Aro Confederacy was an obstacle to them, because it was the strongest pseudo military force Igboland and Ibibioland had to protect them from external forces. So, after several failed attempts by British government to conquer Igboland, they had to use the excuse to end slave trade by Aro Confederacy to bring in their military equipment. Wasn't about ending slavery that they started, it was about regaining control of slave trade from Aro Confederacy, who had sole control of the slave trade industry in present-day Easterm Nigeria and had cut British out of the equation.

Excuse? In those times, nobody needs no excuse to conquer others.
