Some sad and alarming news was relayed to me by law enforcement about a major highway ambush in Ogun State along the road linking Ijebu Ode to Ibadan which evidently went down around 6 pm on May 13th, 2024.

Reports from the scene of the carnage indicate that several gunmen positioned themselves along a stretch of that notoriously dangerous highway, and raked passing vehicles with automatic rifle fusillades that blew asunder the cranium of a bus driver whose vehicle then lost control and blocked both lanes of that desolate highway, trapping a further FIVE vehicles whose occupants were subjected to additional withering gunfire that left several passengers bleeding to death when the smoke cleared, even as those who survived the shooting and crash unscathed were then herded at gunpoint into the bush by the gang of bloodthirsty and sadistic kidnappers.

One needn't be a criminologist to deduce that a kidnapping epidemic is spreading like wildfire in the area of Ogun State where the Lagos/Ibadan and Shagamu to Benin expressways intersect, with the brutality and frequency of attacks intensifying over the past few weeks. The highways witnessing this resurgent kidnap spate are key strategic transport and commercial corridors that convey goods and passengers NATIONWIDE. In this light, the state or federal authorities should urgently consider a massive reinforcement of the military presence already deployed along the Lagos to Ibadan expressways recently, so that some detachments of battle-ready troops can be posted along ALL major roads and highways within a 30-mile radius circle of the Benin/Ibadan Expressway interchange.

I have friends all over Nigeria EXCEPT the north, so anything that happens anywhere in Nigeria concerns me greatly. Any robbery or kidnap operation that occurs along a major highway should concern every person who ever sets foot anywhere in Nigeria, or who has friends or family in Nigeria.

James actually made a valid point, in that most Nigerians who don't live full time in Nigeria gradually stop paying attention to the risks faced by those who live in Nigeria permanently. Nigerian immigrants living full-time in the EU and USA become preoccupied with the monthly struggle to pay bills and go with the 9 am to 5 pm flow of life, so Nigeria and her growing list of problems start to fade from their consciousness over time.

We got to restructure the nations security architecture undecided

APC campaigned using all these problems, but 9years down the line the nation is still on the same spot

An average Nigerian adult suffers from below-average IQ (measured against international standard,)

While people of below-average mental acuity are well represented in all nations and cultures across our glorious green planet, the most intellectually gifted and professionally successful individuals that I have been privileged to encounter along this meandering road of life, happen to have been Nigerians living in the diaspora and Africa, three of whom hold doctorate degrees in the sciences.

This anecdotal aside is a slight digression from my initial news report about a rise in kidnapping incidents along Ogun State highways, therefore as the OP of this thread, with all rights and dictatorial powers implied, I do hereby DECREE before man pikin and Papa God that tangential lines of discourse WILL be permitted in these hallowed chambers. Alll Riiise!

Agreed. Uniting terrorists with their virgin allocation of 72 in their imaginary paradise must be prioritized by the Nigerian military, using drones to compile a real-time target list for precision annihilation by grenade drop Ukraine-style.

Nigeria is a very unserious government. Security is not even a concern as the elite of the country have resorted to travelling by air.
But on a serious note, it is time for both government and the people to comb the bushes and kill any Fulani male above 14 seen there. Their families should be hoarded on a bus back to where they came from even if it is Mali. This menace needs ruthless aggression.
