Misconceptions About What Makes A Muslim A Muslim by NeoWanZaeed(m): 6:41am On May 17
Assalam alaekum warahmatulah wabarakahtuhu brothers and sisters. I'll like to clear the misconceptions that has to do with people about Islam and Muslims about Islam.

1. People generally believe that what makes someone to be identified as a Muslim is when the person offers or observe salat.
2. People generally believe that someone who parades himself or herself as (Alfa, Shehu or Sheha) whereby people go to them with their problems seeking from answers or solutions is okay. (JALABI)
3. People believe that Muslims and Christians worships the same ilah (God)

As for Muslims misconceptions

1. Muslims believe that as long as I perform salat, offer zakat, observe hajj if I have the capacity to and I have good behaviour and clean heart.. I'll enter paradise.
2. Muslims believe that copying Christians in their way of worship is alright because it'll stop Muslims from becoming Christians. e.g (Sunday Asalatu)
3. Muslims believe that Islam and Cultures and Civilizations ain't different entities. They can be blended together.
4. Muslims believe that there's nothing you can do or say or have as beliefs that can NULLIFY YOUR ISLAM.
5. Muslims believe that as long as someone has beards and his trousers is above ankles or the person is using full niqob (Automatically the person is a Muslim no matter what)
6. Muslims believe that as long as you can speak Arabic, you are automatically a scholar and have knowledge about Islam
7. Muslims believe that WHATEVER IS referred to as Sunnah is absolutely NOT compulsory
8. Muslims believe that having factions (sects) in Islam is allowed and they're all brothers
9. Muslims do not believe in HADITHS AND ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT TAKE ITS TEACHINGS SERIOUSLY
10. Muslims believe that whatever they see people doing in Saudi Arabia automatically is part of Islam and must not and never be argued with
11. Muslims see doing magic or Voodoo as something alright as long it's done for them by people parading themselves as Alfa
Re: Misconceptions About What Makes A Muslim A Muslim by NeoWanZaeed(m): 6:59am On May 17
As a Muslim.. You must believe in everything that's in Qur'an and must also believe in Hadith (Sahih and Hassan). Qur'an must also be interpreted using Qur'an and hadiths.

Anything and everything about Islam must be taken from Qur'an and Hadiths. Any fatwa from any scholar WITHOUT QUR'AN VERSES INTERPRETED USING HADITHS OR HADITHS must not be accepted.

This is the basis of our manhaj and Aqeedah. This is exactly what Salafs are calling us to. This is exactly the manhaj and Aqeedah of Ahl Sunnah. This is the manhaj and Aqeedah that sheik Al Islam Abu Abdul Rahman Muhammad Ali Jabata (Hafizohullah)has been calling us to since inception.

1. People generally believe that what makes someone to be identified as a Muslim is when the person offers or observe salat.

Refutation to this. ..

Aqeedah comes first before salat. Performing salat without correct Aqeedah NULLIFIES your salat, Hence, salat is the difference between a Muslim and a kafir.
A Muslim with correct Aqeedah will surely perform Salat and a Muslim without correct Aqeedah will also perform salat. Alas, it's just 1 of the two that will have his or her salat accepted.

Prophet Muhammad, explained Aqeedah for over 12 years.. before he was take up to Allah in the heavens to get the command and instructions for salat.
What makes non Muslims hate and wage war against Muslims and Islam is because of our Aqeedah that's different from theirs. That's why rosul and sahabahs were attacked several times in several ways by the Kufar.

Let's read this hadiths to make us understand better this point

Hadith

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
While the Prophet (ﷺ) was distributing (war booty etc.) one day, Dhul Khawaisira, a man from the tribe of Bani Tamim, said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ! Act justly." The Prophets said, "Woe to you! Who else would act justly if I did not act justly?" `Umar said (to the Prophet (ﷺ) ), "Allow me to chop his neck off." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No, for he has companions (who are apparently so pious that) if anyone of (you compares his prayer with) their prayer, he will consider his prayer inferior to theirs, and similarly his fasting inferior to theirs, but they will desert Islam (go out of religion) as an arrow goes through the victim's body (games etc.) in which case if its Nasl is examined nothing will be seen thereon, and if its Nady is examined, nothing will be seen thereon, and if its Qudhadh is examined, nothing will be seen thereon, for the arrow has gone out too fast even for the excretions and blood to smear over it. Such people will come out at the time of difference among the (Muslim) people and the sign by which they will be recognized, will be a man whose one of the two hands will look like the breast of a woman or a lump of flesh moving loosely." Abu Sa`id added, "I testify that I heard that from the Prophet (ﷺ) and also testify that I was with `Ali when `Ali fought against those people. The man described by the Prophet (ﷺ) was searched for among the killed, and was found, and he was exactly as the Prophet (ﷺ) had described him." (See Hadith No. 807, Vol. 4)

Prophet Muhammad affirmed WHAT WE DO USE TO IDENTIFY MUSLIMS FOR THEM AND YET HE SAID THEY'RE NOT MUSLIMS.

and that's because they are defaulting in Aqeedah

Refutation to this..

When it comes to DUA.. We should only call and seek help from Allah. That's the basis of Aqeedah Huluhiyah.

Al-Fatihah 1:5

English - Sahih International

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.

English - Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged)

You we worship, and You we ask for help.

Linguistically, `Ibadah means subdued.

For instance, a road is described as Mu`abbadah, meaning, `paved'. In religious terminology, `Ibadah implies the utmost love, humility and fear.

The Merit of stating the Object of the Action before the Doer of the Act, and the Merit of these Negations

"You...",

means, we worship You alone and none else, and rely on You alone and none else. This is the perfect form of obedience and the entire religion is implied by these two ideas.

Some of the Salaf said, Al-Fatihah is the secret of the Qur'an, while these words are the secret of Al-Fatihah,
You we worship, and You we ask for help from.

The first part is a declaration of innocence from Shirk (polytheism), while the second negates having any power or strength, displaying the recognition that all affairs are controlled by Allah alone. This meaning is reiterated in various instances in the Qur'an.

For instance, Allah said,

So worship Him (O Muhammad) and put your trust in Him. And your Lord is not unaware of what you (people) do. (11:123)

and,

Say:

"He is the Most Gracious (Allah), in Him we believe, and in Him we put our trust." (67:29)

and,

(He alone is) the Lord of the east and the west; La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs), (73:9)

and,

You we worship, and You we ask for help from.

We should mention that in this Ayah, the type of speech here changes from the third person to direct speech by using the Kaf in the statement Iyyaka (You). This is because after the servant praised and thanked Allah, he stands before Him, addressing Him directly;

You we worship, and You we ask for help from.

So take Him alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs)), (73:9) and,
You we worship, and You we ask for help from.

Al-Fatihah indicates the Necessity of Praising Allah. It is required in every Prayer

The beginning of Surah Al-Fatihah contains Allah's praise for Himself by His most beautiful Attributes and indicates to His servants that, they too, should praise Him in the same manner. Hence, the prayer is not valid unless one recites Al-Fatihah, if he is able.

The Two Sahihs recorded that Ubadah bin As-Samit said that the Messenger of Allah said,

There is no valid prayer for whoever does not recite Al-Fatihah of the Book.

Also, it is recorded in Sahih Muslim that Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said,

Allah said,

`I divided the prayer into two halves between Myself and My servant, one half is for Me and one half for My servant. My servant shall have what he asks for.' When the servant says,
All praise and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of all that exists,

Allah says, `My servant has praised Me.'

When the servant says,
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,

Allah says, `My servant has praised Me.'

When the servant says,
The Owner of the Day of Recompense,

Allah says, `My servant has glorified Me.'

If the servant says,
You we worship, and You we ask for help,

Allah says, `This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall have what he asked.'

If the servant says,
Guide us to the straight path. The path of those on whom You have bestowed Your grace, not (that) of those who have earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray,

Allah says, `This is for My servant, and My servant shall have what he asked.'

Tawhid Al-Uluhiyyah

Ad-Dahhak narrated that Ibn `Abbas said,
(You we worship) means,

It is You whom we single out, Whom we fear and Whom we hope in, You alone, our Lord, and none else.

Tawhid Ar-Rububiyyah

And You we ask for help from, to obey you and in all of our affairs."

Further, Qatadah said that the Ayah,
You we worship, and You we ask for help from,

"Contains Allah's command to us to perform sincere worship for Him and to seek His aid concerning all of our affairs."

Allah mentioned,
You we worship before,

And You we ask for help from, because the objective here is the worship, while Allah's help is the tool to implement this objective. Certainly, one first takes care of the most important aspects and then what is less important, and Allah knows best.

Allah called His Prophet an `Abd

Allah called His Messenger an Abd (servant) when He mentioned sending down His Book, the Prophet's involvement in inviting to Him, and when mentioning the Isra' (overnight journey from Makkah to Jerusalem and then to heaven), and these are the Prophet's most honorable missions.

Allah said,

All praise and thanks be to Allah, Who has sent down to His servant (Muhammad) the Book (the Qur'an), (18:1)

and,

And when the servant of Allah (Muhammad) stood up invoking Him (his Lord ـ Allah in prayer), (72:19)

and,

Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) (above all that they associate with Him) Who took His servant (Muhammad ) for a journey by night. (17:1)

Encouraging the Performance of the Acts of Worship during Times of Distress

Allah also recommended that His Prophet resort to acts of worship during times when he felt distressed because of the disbelievers who defied and denied him.

Allah said,

Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). (15:97-99)

Why Praise was mentioned First

Since the praise of Allah, Who is being sought for help, was mentioned, it was appropriate that one follows the praise by asking for his need. We stated that Allah said,

One half for Myself and one half for My servant, and My servant shall have what he asked.

This is the best method for seeking help, by first praising the one whom help is sought from and then asking for His aid, and help for one's self, and for his Muslim brethren by saying.
Guide us to the straight path.

This method is more appropriate and efficient in bringing about a positive answer to the pleas, and this is why Allah recommended this better method.

Asking for help may take the form of conveying the condition of the person who is seeking help. For instance, the Prophet Moses said,

My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me! (28:24)

Also, one may first mention the attributes of whoever is being asked, such as what Dhun-Nun said,

La ilaha illa Anta (none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah), Glorified (and Exalted) be You (above all that they associate with You)! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers. (21:87)

Further, one may praise Him without mentioning what he needs.

..
Muslims worship Allah.. who is not created nor he's a human being nor has a son or daughter nor given birth to.

Christians worship Nabiy Eesaa (Jesus).

Let's read this hadith.

Hadith

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
During the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ) some people said, : O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ! Shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Yes; do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun at midday when it is bright and there is no cloud in the sky?" They replied, "No." He said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on a full moon night when it is bright and there is no cloud in the sky?" They replied, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "(Similarly) you will have no difficulty in seeing Allah on the Day of Resurrection as you have no difficulty in seeing either of them. On the Day of Resurrection, a call-maker will announce, "Let every nation follow that which they used to worship." Then none of those who used to worship anything other than Allah like idols and other deities but will fall in Hell (Fire), till there will remain none but those who used to worship Allah, both those who were obedient (i.e. good) and those who were disobedient (i.e. bad) and the remaining party of the people of the Scripture. Then the Jews will be called upon and it will be said to them, 'Who do you use to worship?' They will say, 'We used to worship Ezra, the son of Allah.' It will be said to them, 'You are liars, for Allah has never taken anyone as a wife or a son. What do you want now?' They will say, 'O our Lord! We are thirsty, so give us something to drink.' They will be directed and addressed thus, 'Will you drink,' whereupon they will be gathered unto Hell (Fire) which will look like a mirage whose different sides will be destroying each other. Then they will fall into the Fire. Afterwards the Christians will be called upon and it will be said to them, 'Who do you use to worship?' They will say, 'We used to worship Jesus, the son of Allah.' It will be said to them, 'You are liars, for Allah has never taken anyone as a wife or a son,' Then it will be said to them, 'What do you want?' They will say what the former people have said. Then, when there remain (in the gathering) none but those who used to worship Allah (Alone, the real Lord of the Worlds) whether they were obedient or disobedient. Then (Allah) the Lord of the worlds will come to them in a shape nearest to the picture they had in their minds about Him. It will be said, 'What are you waiting for?' Every nation have followed what they used to worship.' They will reply, 'We left the people in the world when we were in great need of them and we did not take them as friends. Now we are waiting for our Lord Whom we used to worship.' Allah will say, 'I am your Lord.' They will say twice or thrice, 'We do not worship any besides Allah.' "

It was narrated that Abu Salamah said:
"I said to Abu Sa'eed Khudri: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah mention anything about the Haruriyyah (a sect of Khawarij)?' He said: 'I heard him mention a people who would appear to be devoted worshippers: "Such that anyone of you would regard his own prayer and fasting as insignificant when compared to theirs. But they will pass through Islam like an arrow passing through its target, then he (the archer) picks up his arrow and looks at its iron head but does not see anything, then he looks at the shaft and does not see anything, then he looks at the band: that which is wrapped around the iron head where it is connected to the shaft, then he looks at the feather and is not sure whether he sees anything or not."

Muslims believe that Islam and Cultures and Civilizations ain't different entities. They can be blended together.

Refutation.

Everything that has an ideology and rules IS TERMED RELIGION in language. Just like the guy said in the fiction Mandalorian ... He said "My religion is Mandalore"

The way in which you live your life is your religion and you can't blend or mix them together

Religion or Culture or Civilization is what bring people to Unity and uniformity anywhere they are. It's absolutely can't be mixed because these ideologies are very different from each other and they'll surely collide at some point and you'll have to leave one for another.

Islam nullified countless of things about cultures and also in civilization also.

Islam is divine rules and customs in a way to live our life.

Culture is a set of rules and customs stated by Supernatural human being or noble people..

Civilization is custom of freedom of mind.

As a Muslim, Islam custom is our priority and it's what we must follow

Assalam alaekum warahmatulah wabarakahtuhu brothers and sisters. I'll like to clear the misconceptions that has to do with people about Islam and Muslims about Islam.

1. People generally believe that what makes someone to be identified as a Muslim is when the person offers or observe salat.
2. People generally believe that someone who parades himself or herself as (Alfa, Shehu or Sheha) whereby people go to them with their problems seeking from answers or solutions is okay. (JALABI)
3. People believe that Muslims and Christians worships the same ilah (God)

Your first point is not a misconception. What distinguishes a Muslim from a non-Muslim is salaat

Before a Muslim salat can be accepted.
The person must have Aqeedah.

It's after having Aqeedah and then you don't perform salat.. that's when we use the Hadiths

It's the belief in Allah (Huluhiyah, Rububiyah, Asmaulah wa Sifat... Staying away from bidah and correct ahl walah wa baroah) that's Aqeedah.

That's what makes a Muslim a Muslim. That's what makes observing of salat acceptable.

Performing salat 5 times without understanding these aforementioned 100% makes one's Salah irrelevant.

It's the aforementioned that prophet preached for 13 years before the order of performing salat comes forth. And it's because of the aforementioned that prophet Muhammad and sahabahs were fought against and attempted to be killed for NOT BECAUSE THEY'RE PERFORMING SALAT

Then he said: Look, for the Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah said: “There will emerge people who speak the truth but it will not go further than their throats; they will pass out of the truth as the arrow passes through the prey. Their sign is that among them will be a black man with a deformed hand, with black hairs on his hand.” If it is him, you will have killed the worst of people, and if it is not him, you will have killed the best of people.” We wept, then he said: Go and look. Arabic is a language. Islam Arabic is different from normal Arabic. Ability to speak and write Arabic fluently doesn't make anyone a Muslim or a scholar.

What makes a scholar a scholar is when..

He speaks and quotes Qur'an and Hadiths
When he calls people to Qur'an and Hadiths

Unlike all these nonsense doctors..

They're calling people to be following philosophy and scholars blindly. Especially that Sarafa gbadebo Raji... He's calling people to be following madhabs..as if it's madhabs that Allah sent us to follow

He wrote to him: To begin with, I enjoin upon you to fear Allah, to be moderate in (obeying) His Command, to follow the sunnah (practice) of His Prophet (ﷺ) and to abandon the novelties which the innovators introduced after his Sunnah has been established and they were saved from its trouble (i.e. novelty or innovation) ; so stick to Sunnah, for it is for you, if Allah chooses, a protection ; then you should know that any innovation which the people introduced was refuted long before it on the basis of some authority or there was some lesson in it, for the Sunnah was introduced by the people who were conscious of the error, slip, foolishness, and extremism in case of (the sunnah) was opposed. So accept for yourself what the people (in the past) had accepted for themselves, for they had complete knowledge of whatever they were informed, and by penetrating insight they forbade (to do prohibited acts); they had more strength (than us) to disclose the matters (of religion), and they were far better (than us) by virtue of their merits. If right guidance is what you are following, then you outstriped them to it. And if you say whatever the novelty occurred after them was introduced by those who followed the way other then theirs and disliked them. It is they who actually outstripped, and talked about it sufficiently, and gave a satisfactory explanation for it. Below them there is no place for exhaustiveness, and above them there is no place for elaborating things. Some people shortened the matter more than they had done, and thus they turned away (from them), and some people raised the matter more than they had done, and thus they exaggerated. They were on right guidance between that. You have written (to me) asking about confession of Divine decree, you have indeed approached a person who is well informed of it, with the will of Allah. I know what whatever novelty people have brought in, and whatever innovation people have introduced are not more manifest and more established than confession of Divine decree. The ignorant people (i.e. the Arabs before Islam) in pre-Islamic times have mentioned it ; they talked about it in their speeches and in their poetry. They would console themselves for what they lost, and Islam then strengthened it (i.e. belief in Divine decree). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not mention it in one or two traditions, but the Muslims heard it from him, and they talked of it from him, and they talked of it during his lifetime and after his death. They did so out of belief and submission to their Lord and thinking themselves weak. There is nothing which is not surrounded by His knowledge, and not counted by His register and not destined by His decree. Despite that, it has been strongly mentioned in His Book: from it they have derived it, and from it they have and so ? they also read in it what you read, and they knew its interpretation of which you are ignorant. After that they said: All this is by writing and decreeing. Distress has been written down, and what has been destined will occur ; what Allah wills will surely happen, and what He does not will will not happen. We have no power to harm or benefit ourselves. Then after that they showed interest (in good works) and were afraid (of bad deeds).

SUNNAH IS ISLAM AND ISLAM IS SUNNAH
YOU CANNOT PRACTICE ISLAM WITHOUT PRACTICING SUNNAH.

Some Sunnah are compulsory
Some are voluntary.. it's not all Sunnah that it's voluntary.

If you don't keep your beards, you are a sinner. Keeping beards is Sunnah.

If you don't call a KAFIR a KAFIR. You are a kafir. .. calling kafir a kafir is the Sunnah of rosul
