Yankee101: It is a lie. It is the IBOS that destroy Lagos. Lagos is a market to many countries in Africa. Before the invasion of Lagos by the IBOS, Lagos was home to many people from different part of Africa. The Ghanaians and SA don't want them. They only tolerate them because of Nigeria. If they are driven out of Lagos, many countries in Africa will drive them away. 1 Like |

Actually they just want to expand the Eko Atlantic, and they needed a perfect excuse to swallow the beach ... sadly I hope they don't swallow all other beaches . ... Although we must all wake up to the reality that Lagos is going to be a vertical city twenty years from now and those locations would be prime location ... |

Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by mmsen: 5:11pm On May 01 |
Babangidapikin: If true that is a huge problem. Eko Atlantic while a good idea for protecting Lagos from further erosion has proven to be a financial black hole and an avenue for doing what Tinubu and friends know how to do best... |

Babangidapikin: What is wrong with the expansion of Eko Atlantic City? Is it not for the development of the city? So one person want to hold the entire Lagos down because he is hosted in Lagos. If Landmark were to belong to a Yoruba can we hear this type of nonsense? Antony Anenih is late. Chief Ogunlewe and OBASANJO are still alive. When VI became like a ghost city and nobody was willing to buy any property on the Island and businesses were moving out because of Ocean encroachment that boy Tayo was on the streets. If Eko Atlantic City had not been created by courage and resilience of some people nobody will be talking about Landmark today. 2 Likes |

Nigerians will always praise them for creating roads. Not my concern. |
Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by Babangidapikin: 5:19pm On May 01 |
mmsen:Well it's not a financial black hole at $5million per plot the last I checked might be going close to $10 million per plot now, the challenge is only 5% of the population can afford that, which means we will have more residential skyscrapers, which means more traffic with a single road network...and Rich men don't like crowded places. Hopefully you have residential-cooperate skyscrapers.... and minimize traffic |

The way you sound I doubt you have been there... don't be carried away with the name landmark, they are more 5star places there... take Breeze for example, I have seen many of our senators there even Seyi Tinubu and many foreigners there so what do you think is the attraction if not the waterfront motymop: |
Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by Babangidapikin: 5:28pm On May 01 |
professorPABX:I knew how major private and government assets were dilapidating along Ahmadu Bello Road ..yes the Eko Atlantic project brought a relief to that, but the challenge here is the Government lack of information, because I don't think we kept quiet when Ex President Buhari built a rail way to his ancestral family home in Niger, the same way we beg the question"what is in Calabar" .. of course most offshore line of Lagos are in serious danger of been swallowed up no doubt and this initiative might help push back the ocean. But truth be told we need to start making billionaires out of our population else those skyscrapers will be empty or filled with foreigners. |

There is too much hatred and division in Nigeria. No country can move forward with this level of hatred and disunity |
Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by professorPABX: 5:45pm On May 01 |
Omoejigbahe: Landmark is not the only property affected in that axis. They came to Lagos with nothing and are made now they are blackmailing the city that feeds them and abusing her people, the land and ocean and the lagoon will fight them at the end. What annoyed me most was that we were direct victims of the ocean encroachment. I witnessed everything before we left when Ahmadu Bello way became single lane. Nobody was willing to buy properties even at giveaway price. |

Rico96: Nigeria isnt a tourist destination, any foreigner you see in any resort works in Nigeria, i have never seen any foreigner saying they choose Nigeria as a destination for holidays. We just dont have that environment and facilities, what we have is people setting up structures near the beaches and over charging people in terms of services and amenities. yeah seeing senators, seyi tinubu and many foreigners does not remove from the fact that the owners of the properties down there encroached on federal govt properties |

Newboy1102: Brother, I understand we are all clamoring for a better Nigeria, but the cry and complain will not change anything, and no one will change our situation including Obi Except we involve and play our part, nothing will move. Let us stop looking for good drivers, let us join and drive our portion. Nigeria belong to all of us. |

HisXLNC1: He did not even acquire anywhere besides where his main buildings are located. He simply encroached like others behind his back fence that is a stretch of public beach that belongs to the government. Like other similar business along the beach stretch, he enjoyed the encroachment and the end has come. But while others are silent, he is making noise and trying to own what was never sold to him. |

Domaining101: Nonsense!!! Shut up!!! They do it very well in developed countries. UK did it when they wanted to lay fast track for rail from London to Edinburgh. These wannabe japa guys are just fucking ignorant. You need to weigh the cost of losing some tourists to that of opening up the country for greater economic activity. |

Even if the govt can claim the landmark man don't have papers, where were the govt officials when the landmark beach was under construction. Did landmark beach just stand under 1min? We should start asking the right questions, just like on the wedding day, "speak now or forever hold your peace'. It's just a witch-hunt for that same Igbo tribe. The owner of the landmark beach is an Igbo man. When they were demolishing small properties in festac nobody said anything. Now, they are bold enough to demolish a $200M Igbo man's project saying they want to build a road. Spending 1 trillion naira for a less then 50km.road. The hell fire that awaits our leaders , Satan is still adding diesel, fuel and coal to it. Let landmark man go to court, even if he doesn't have the complete papers for that property. Someone can't waste his money because someone wants to push him out of biz. |
