Recently I have had a lot of business in Kogi state. Abd I can tell u all that my car has suffered.

A trip from Lokoja to Okene has become a nightmare.Not like Lokoja township roads are any better, but d fate of d federal highway from Lokoja to Okene can best be described as "abandoned" by Ferma.

D nightmare starts from Obajana junction. There are lakes n craters in d middle of d road, right at this junction where Dangote's articulated vehicles pour out into d highway.

Then comes d bumpy ride all d way to some pretty nasty craters after Irepeni, before Osara,at Itakpe, and some bloody ones near Abodo.

Now when u have entered outskirts of Okene, then comes d rivers. Fce Okene has some gullies that swallow up d tyres of articulated vehicles. From Bigh petrol station to " small gate" of Fce, to Gss Ogaminana, to petrojost filling station. its so miserable that it takes 30minz to drive btw fce and total junction, a distance of less than 10km.

Is Ferma asleep?

As a matter of fact, I used that road like 3 times in the last 2 months and its terrible to say the least. very bumpy and full of different sizes of potholes scattered all around. My first trip through that road I had thought it is an old road now abandoned for a new one. i beg FERMA, make un wake up na?

I appreciate you OP for opening this thread. You are citing this even as a passerby; just imagine the agony the residents of this area go through. As a matter of fact; I stay in that area and back in the days, from FCE second gate to Total is just 20mins; but now because of the VERY bad state of the roads; you could spend close to 1hr or more with your life so endangered because you are so scared of these big vehicles falling on your own vehicle. Now that I stay in lagos; I so dont enjoy going back home; because of that bad road. What amazes me most is the fact that; this said road is the only major road to the Federal capital territory; implying that so many government officials ply this same road almost on a daily basis as there is no airport between FCT and Kogi state; yet FERMA isnt doing anything to savage the situation permanently. Weather they are waiting for so much more lives to be lost (as it has caused many accidents and claimed lives of students of FCE, Okene) before they do something or maybe till it makes a bad news headline before they do something; I honestly have no idea. BUT THERE IS GOD......

my God! I passed d raod again last night...r these guys blind or what! d only road dat leads into d fct from d south?

from edo,benin,lagos,ondo, ogun,osun,ekiti etc, all converge on Okene at some point, on their way to Abuja! see how strategic this road is, yet govt have d balls to look d other way when d raod is in such a state?haba!
