good morning bro, av been following you from the beginning and I think I have learnt a lot, but there's something I need to ask you....

the snails I picked up at my backyard and in my farmsite, will they be good for snail farming and what kind of specie of snail are they.

and if reverse is the case, how can I get to buy the snail for farming and the cost of setting up the pen, I believe I can construct it myself I just need a guide from you and what and what to buy to set it up, meanwhile I based in Kaduna.

Any little help will help, thanks in anticipation, God bless u

Hi Afrocatalyst,

How many snails can one get for a range of 10-20k?
and if im to construct a small snailary (as it is called) should i just "small" 1or 2 or 3 , because as i read, the snail farming has 3 different stages, pls correct me if i am wrong.... breeding, growing, harvesting right? should the 3 different stage be kept away from eachother? hope i am not asking for much... cheers.

Those things you complained about have been factored into the construction.

The breeders field is different from the babies field and also different from the harvest fields. Cannibalism has been greatly reduced as a result of this.

Ants' problem has been anticipated from the beginning and knowing fully well that ants don't fly, a system has been put in place to take care of them too.

In this system the snails are in all round season as they get water evertday. There is artificial irrigation system set up in all the fields.

What I want to know us this, how do I make sure that ants don't invade the snail shelter? qoute me Pls.

Cutting and brazing of the pipes into 4ft each
lengths of galvanised angle pipes 1.5"
Cutting and brazing of the angle irons for the internal snail fields
bags of cement for burying the pipes and angle irons to achieve firmness.
Fabricated screws,bolts and washers for tacking the galvanised sheets to the pipes.
Fixing of the galvanised sheets round the perimeter
Digging of the trench round for the perimeter fencing
Marking out of the internal snail fields and tilling and planting.
Buying of the vegetables to be planted
bundles of nets
Sewing of the nets by the tailor.
If you are to handle this as a Consultant, what's the minimum amount to hold as a beginner and small owner
