Rottentooth:
Some years ago, it was pepper scarcity; this year, it is tomato scarcity. Both crops are from the north. When will the south, the east and the west learn to be self sufficient in food production? Yet, the east is beating drums of separation.
Ur moniker says it all about you. Rottentooth Mtchew.
The money the country runs on belongs to who? the allocation money ur state and village feeds on comes from where. the beverages and drinks you consume comes from wh part of the country?
do you think the south east and west don't have what they contribute to the country? do you think without the north the south won't survive?
FYI the northern land are more suitable for certain crops that why or do you tink other states can't produce?
if not for ur useless elders and rotten brothers who embezzled our resources for themselves do you tink we wud have been having all these problems?
wen it comes to the east and south all u say is kill them but wen it comes to the north they re angels and leaders that's why ur president will kill Ipob and NDA asking for a fair shelare nd close his eyes to the Fulani's his pipo and lie they re Libyans.

This I feel is the solution to tomatoes scarcity in the long run considering the fact that Nigeria's population is increasing on a yearly basis.
This guy got some innovating ideas.

In my opinion,I feel planting at least some of your own food would go a long way in easing the pain people ate presently going through. For the past 3 years,I've been planting my own vegetables,e.g spinach, pumkin leaves, tomatoes, pepper,Basil(effinrin),mint, water leaf, and bitter leaf at home. Our flooring is interlocked so there's no space to plant,so because of that I used pots and bags to plant. Initially I started planting for the fun of it,I enjoyed it,now it has helped. I think people should cultivate the habit of planting simple veggies like this,it could help during scarcity!
Hi. Sorry to bother you. Is it the normal flower pots you use in planting? And what kind of bags do you use? Thanks in advance.

I use the normal. Flower pots, but clay, not plastic;I also use bags made from cotton-i don't know exactly the name of the bag,I buy them from those mallams who bring tomatoes from the north at. Mile 12. They use those bags specifically for fresh pepper-brownish in colour. The bags are easily well ventilated;when you water your plant,it drains easily.

Like Home of me mentioned planting is one way forward . I have attached a pic of tomatoes I grew in my compound last year, I am planting more now. Also try Ofe Akwu, Gravy and other alternatives to stew . There's a simple recipe for Ofe Akwu on this site as well http://www.chiomah.net/2016/05/my-palmnut-stew-recipe-ofe-akwu.html?m=1
