All the governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party are expected to meet in Abuja on January 5 to discuss burning national issues. The meeting, which Kwara State Governor Bukola Saraki said would hold at the Kwara Governor's Lodge, is expected to discuss the February 6, 2010 governorship election in Anambra State, state of the nation and the on-going electoral reform. The governors were initially scheduled to meet on Tuesday but many of them were said to have travelled to Minna, Niger State to condole with former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babagida(rtd.) whose wife was buried on wednesday. According to Saraki, the January 5 meeting will discuss in details some issues affecting the nation. The governors are also expected to be briefed by the National Chairman of the party, Chief Vincent Ogbulafor. The PDP boss and the National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Kawu Baraje led some of its National Working Committee to Tuesday's meeting. But the meeting could not go on due to not-forming of quorum which necessitated the shifting of the meeting till January. Governors who came for the aborted meeting Jonah Jang, Plateau State; Mr Chibuike Amaechi, Rivers State; Chief Ikedi Ohakim, Imo State; Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State; Sullivan Chime of Enugu State; Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa State; and Obong Godswill Akpabio, Akwa Ibom State.
