Having been following the recent trends on marital issues across the country, I have decided to share my reflection on the subject of marriage. My thoughts shall be coming largely from an existential point of view. It is going to be succinct, so kindly read meticulously.

Human beings need to fulfill certain needs in life so as to live a happy life. These needs come to us at various degrees of intensity. They are altogether important but each of them come to different people and at different times unequally. Some of these needs include food, shelter, clothing, education, good health, marriage, car, relationship, etc.
Now coming to marriage, we created the institution of marriage to satisfy a certain kind of need. Nevertheless, the need for marriage is naturally not equally strong in everyone. Moreso, the need for marriage is long lasting for some people while for others it is just for a while. Humanity has come to that age where marriage should be sanctioned based on individual need and not just to fulfill a socio-cultural obligation.

Therefore, I advocate that anyone who wants to consider going into marriage should first attain a satisfactory level of self mastery so as to know how strong and how lasting the need for marriage is for him or her. If you think you need it, go for it, otherwise, just be.

A necessary end for some people and for some the reason why they should be more competent, responsibility and hard-working. Some parts and places in Nigeria and even across our clime believe that marriage has it's own role in shaping and modeling one's life. Well this maybe right to an extent but I'm of the opinion like you pointed that one should attain a level of self mastery and goal realization before this venturing into marriage. Many dreams and visions are dead because the bearer has lost focus all in the name of marriage and also many dream and visions have been made real or more realistic upon marrying. Either way let's learn to do, believe and walk in what works for us...

No matter what, a man will definitely end up with a woman. That's just the hardcore truth. Only time will tell.

I want to go back to 2003 when life was normal. When social media was still in its infant stage. Where our lives did not revolve around likes and views.

Do we even understand fully what technology is doing to us? I hope we don't get the answer to this question when it's too late.
