Niger State is blessed with swampy Land suitable for Cultivation of Rice but,I doubt if the state can boast of self sufficiency at the moment.They currently get supply from Kebbi and other big Rice farming state in the North.If I should tell you a particular village has dominance over Rice Cultivation currently I will be exaggerating.The predominant people of Niger are known for their agricultural prowess hence,you can find Rice from any of the villages at harvest without much hassle.I will advise instead of going to a particular village,just take your time observe the market days and buy directly from the market,I have been to some villages before in the quest for cheaper deal and later discovered it's better I buy from the market.The settlement patterns in Niger Villages is quasi-communal plus fear of our already known enemies
Conclusively,as regards paddy processing manually for now,if you're not a company,relax or better still buy already processed Rice from market women, destone, polish and bag.

Yes Sir,If them destone and polish your Rice even you won't believe it's Nigeria Rice, trust me check the sipi rice below,the first one is polished and the second one without polish.

I'm currently buying my Rice from Katsina, before now it's either Iddah(Kaduna)or Lambatta (Niger State)for ease of proximity.As I'm talking to you,a tier of Sipi is currently 1200 in Kaduna (25 tier)for 50kg while Sipi in Lambatta is 850-900 depending on how neat it's (30 mudule)50kg.I am now glued to Katsina, where I normally get 120kg for 57000 (High quality Jemila Rice)After processing and bagging it pays me more.So until price returns to normalcy I may not be visiting Kaduna and Lambatta anytime soon as pertaining Rice.In order not to Je' gbese,one needs to be calculated in this trying time
Our solace is in the fact that new Rice is coming out next month through October, just that it won't be very dry,to give you what you want but by December we will know our fate

It takes approximately 27,000 to process a 50kg bag of Jemila Rice at the moment.Reason why I resort to buying directly from Katsina and add finishing touches myself before bagging.Transport to Abia by truck is 2,000 By Bus and Sienna is 4,000.

This is the market price Sir,it's even 63,000 today.Price of Rice is not smiling again.The incessant rainfall is not allowing them to dry Rice,the little dry one in circulation is exorbitant.If Rice nor dry like Stone,no Joy o I couldn't get dry Rice from Katsina and Niger combined for two weeks,I have to refund my customers.Its either it's not properly dried and cheap or very dry and expensive
