SUBJECT: URGENT APPEAL FOR ENHANCED SECURITY MEASURES IN ONDO STATE

Dear Inspector General of Police,

I am writing to urgently bring to your attention the grave security situation on the Akure-Ikere road and other federal highways in Ondo State. The increasing incidents of kidnappings along this route have turned it into a dangerous and distressing corridor for our community.

Dear IGP KAYODE EGBETOKUN, It is with great concern that I report the daily occurrences of our people falling victim to kidnappings, with ransoms being paid to secure their release. This dire situation not only endangers lives but also erodes the sense of security and well-being among the residents who rely on this road for their daily activities.

The surge in kidnappings has not only instilled fear but has also led to the distressing trend of ransom payments to these criminals. The lives and livelihoods of our people are at stake, and it is imperative that immediate and effective action is taken to address this growing threat.

I implore you to prioritize and expedite the implementation of enhanced security measures along the Akure-Ikere and other major federal highways in Ondo State. The safety of our citizens is paramount, and urgent intervention is crucial to curbing this alarming trend. The people of Ondo State are living in fear, and decisive action is needed to restore confidence in their ability to travel and conduct their affairs without the constant threat of abduction.

We earnestly request the intervention of the federal government to provide additional resources and support to enhance security measures in Ondo State. The safety of our citizens should be a top priority, and collaborative efforts between federal and state agencies are essential to curbing this menace.
