What is Infibulation? Have you heard of the word "infibulation" before now? Do you know the meaning?


Infibulation is the practice of removing the clitoris and labia of a girl or woman and sewing the edge of the vulva to prevent intercourse. This is complete shaving of the vagina and stitches to prevent the girl from having sex.

The vagina is sealed, leaving a small hole through which the girl can menstruate or urinate.

The girl's leg was bound with a rope for days to allow the wound to heal. The wound usually takes between 15 and 40 days to heal. During this time, the girl's legs are tied and she cannot move.

Basically, the stitches are made so that the husband can open them again on the wedding night so that he can have an intimate relationship with her. Imagine someone opening a stitch and immediately having sex with her.
