The Kwara State Commissioner of Finance, Dr. (Mrs.) Hauwa Nuru has pledged that the Ministry would collaborate with KWIRS to improve the State Government's internally generated Revenue.

The Commissioner for Finance, Dr. (Mrs.) Hauwa Nuru disclosed this today during a familiarization visit by the Executive Chairman, KWIRS, Mrs. Shade Omoniyi held at her office, Ministry of Finance, in Ilorin the State Capital.

Dr. Nuru noted that the visit had allowed the Ministry to collaborate with the Ministry of Finance and KWIRS to increase the revenue base of the State.

"Identifying the factors hindering the revenue drive of the State, there is the need to jointly proffer workable strategies to address the challenges," She said.

The Commissioner appreciated the revenue boss for deeming it fit to identify with the Ministry and further strengthened the harmonious relationship that had existed between the Ministry and her Agency.

Earlier, the KWIRS Executive Chairman, Shade Omoniyi said that her familiarization visit was to congratulate the Commissioner on her appointment and most importantly engage her on how to further strengthen the relationship that had existed between her Agency and the Ministry.

The Chairman, who described Dr Nuru's appointment as a good one further expressed optimism that would bring the use of wealth experience to bear in creating a seamless synergy between the Ministry and KWIRS.

Omoniyi said that the internally generated revenue of the State could only be addressed with better synergy to boost the State revenue, and added that collaboration will definitely improve the IGR of the State.
