A man whose reward for labor is based on salary is limited to being wealthy. Expenses are not fixed; it keeps coming daily but salary is fixed.

This made me ask if there has been any wealthy man who amassed wealth through salary?

The inspiration behind this write up stems from my personal journey. I may not claim to be a genius, but I certainly don't consider myself a dullard either.

I've been part of the workforce, earning a salary since 2002, which means I've spent 22 years in this role as of this year (2024). However, despite the years of toil, I find myself in a state of financial constraint.

Perhaps, like many salary earners, I've held the belief that incremental increases in our salaries equate to financial growth.

This notion often traps us in jobs longer than necessary.

Unfortunately, when that awaited salary raise finally arrives, the cost of living has already surged, rendering the increase insufficient.

My personal story is one of overdue rent payments, mounting electricity bills that made me to be hiding for my landlord, especially weekend when I know he would be around, a damaged door net that invited all sorts of rodents into my room, and a leaking roof that turned my bed into a soaking sponge during rainy nights.

Even the television in my room wasn't mine; it was on loan from a neighbor who happened to be an electrician and frequently reclaimed it for work.

The state of my footwear mirrored my financial struggles; I had mended it so many times that the cobbler promised to replace it instead. Can you believe it?

I even engaged in numerous savings schemes, hoping to establish some financial stability. However, before each month ended, I had managed to spend more than I had, resulting in me borrowing money to fulfill my contributions.

Each time I received my share, it went straight into paying off debts.

Observing my successful neighbors and friends, I noticed that they weren't solely reliant on a fixed salary. This realization led me to question: if my expenses aren't fixed, why should my income be?

To the best of my recollection, I consistently earned nothing less than a B grade in all of my financial courses during my academic years. I even extended a helping hand to many peers in solving their financial coursework while in school.

However, in the grand scheme of life, it turned out that they were the ones aiding me in tackling my financial challenges. What an ironic twist!

This serves as a reminder that the concept of "school" extends beyond the four walls of an educational institution; it encompasses any situation you may encounter in life.

Despite my academic distinctions in financial courses, I have encountered real-life financial setbacks akin to academic "carry overs."

As one of my sayings goes, "Behind every successful salary earner, there is an income in disguise." We find ourselves spending money daily, so I pose a simple question: why can't we make money daily? Is that too much to ask? I firmly believe the answer is "No."

I used to rely solely on my fixed salary to tackle unexpected expenses that cropped up.

Then, one day, I paused to ponder a crucial question: Can you name any successful person who amassed wealth as a salary earner? As far as I know, I couldn't find a single example of a billionaire who became wealthy by working for someone else.

Even Frederick Winslow Taylor, the pioneer of scientific management, stated that a salary earner is compensated only a fraction of the value of their services.

It's a fundamental principle. So, if achieving wealth through a fixed salary isn't the path to financial success, what is it?

The answer is remarkably simple.

WE SPEND MONEY EVERYDAY; WHY CAN'T WE MAKE MONEY EVERYDAY is an ebook that explains with real life stories how one can understand the interplay among the financial variables.

It's very affordable and rich in financial information.
