Divine Prescription for Serving God Acceptably

There are certain ignorant unscriptural things we sometimes do in the name of serving God, but the truth is that if we deviate from what the scriptures prescribe, we would only be wasting our time.

There's a correct way to serve God and an incorrect way to serve Him. Read this article patiently to the end to find out if you're serving God the right way.

1 Chronicles 13:1-4,7-10 KJV
And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader. [2] And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the Lord our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us: [3] And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul. [4] And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people. [7] And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart. [8] And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. [9] And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. [10] And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.

The ark was a symbol of God's presence, and He gave rules about how it should be carried and who should carry it. The people who carried the ark in the context above were sinners, they were evil and wicked people who disobeyed God's instruction about who could touch the ark. As you can see, God killed Uzza immediately he dared to lay his hand on it. There was a prescription in place for the people to follow with respect to the ark, a right way that things should have been done.


When you make the decision to be a born-again Christian, you need to examine your life carefully and find out if whatever you're doing-- your thoughts, words and actions--are correct. Your service to God must be performed according to HIS rules and patterns described in the scriptures.

You can't be fornicating and call yourself a Christian. You can't be into fraud, stealing, smoking, drinking, gossiping, etc. and think God hears your prayers or will reserve a place in Heaven for you. You're only deceiving yourself.

Isaiah 55:8 KJV
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord .

When you're serving God, you don't serve Him according to your own ideas or understanding. You must live by the Word. You can't make your own rules or say that it's okay for you to do so and so when the bible clearly condemns it.

Romans 15:4-5 KJV
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. [5] Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

Some people believe that certain parts of the scriptures ought to be disregarded. Everything that was written was written to teach us and guide us, dear friend.

The Danger of Unacceptable Consultation Without Scriptures

Why are you dressing provocatively because you see others doing it? Why are you conducting marriages and parties the way the world does it? Why are you making all your decisions based on the thoughts and actions of others? When you live your life like an unbeliever, you will incure God's wrath upon you.

Deuteronomy 12:8-9,28-32 KJV
Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes. [9] For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God giveth you. [28] Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the Lord thy God. [29] When the Lord thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; [30] Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. [31] Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to the Lord , which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. [32] What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Hosea 4:6 KJV
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Romans 10:2-4 KJV
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. [3] For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. [4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

This basically means that there are people who want to serve God but don't know how to. They don't read the Word of God themselves or have the Holy Spirit to make them understand the Word. They depend on the understanding of men (sometimes ungodly men).

Hebrews 2:1 KJV
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Hebrews 12:25 KJV
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape , if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

Please don't ignore this message. Repent now that there's still time. Words cannot describe the goodness of God that you will experience when you serve God. Every day is incredible.

The damnation that awaits sinners is too terrible to describe. Today, a man came to my compound and was loudly talking to someone about very vulgar things (sexual acts, prostitutes, having baby mamas, etc). I felt bad for the man. A whoremonger laughing about sexually active women.

Revelation 21:8 KJV
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Sometimes we think we know it all, when in actuality, we know nothing at all.
