I think you just wrote this to justify your 33k monthly stipend. Because even a primary 1 child knows that any law that is inconsistent with the constitution is null and void
are you saying state assembly members can't amend the state laws?
Re: Rivers: Court Nullifies Tenure Extension For Pro-Wike LG Chairmen by Vadese1: 6:22pm On May 21
Carry your sermons go preach at Obiakpo. We don't entertain this kind of propaganda here. Two governor cannot be at a state the same time. This moment is for our humble governor Fubara and not the Obiakpo rat

BondRiv:
Fubara is the one causing this crisis with his desire to appoint unconstitutional caretaker chairmen. Caretaker chairmen are illegal. People are just cherry picking illegality.

What are the plans for the conduct of local government election in Rivers State? Why is the empty drum Fubara afraid of local government election?

These chairmen are going nowhere without an election. They will appeal to the supreme court. Everybody will choose what they want. Even then, they may not leave, if the governor wants to foist illegal caretaker chairmen on the LGAs.

Look at the kangaroo judgement. All these quacks in public offices.

This is the same way they keep granting injunctions to any thug who wakes up and claims to be the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, yet no court has ever declared the seats of the Speaker, Martin Amaewhule and the other lawmakers vacant. What a shame.

Rivers State is just being embarrassed. This changes nothing. The drama will continue.

Making laws and amending laws are one of the duty of assembly members, now according to the judge assembly members has no rights to amend constitution. Corrupt judges everywhere
Any law that is inconsistent with the constitution, the constitution takes prominence. In Nigeria Constitution, it's well spelt out that the tenor of local government Chairman/counselor is 3 years. House of Assembly has no rights to extend their tenor. One day another house of Assembly, say Kano will extend the tenor of their governor without the National Assembly amending the constitution.

Because Wike wants to keep his people at the LGA level because he can't influence C/O list anymore.

Thanks. What do you mean by C/O list? Secondly if they are allowed to extend their tenure for 6 months only, how is it going to aid their course?

I'm very bitter at this judgement as I believe Appeal court will upturn it.

This is judicial rascality and must be condemned by all.

How can judiciary tell the legislature laws to amend.

Appeal court must upturn it .

See how ipob and obedient are rejoicing over illegality.

Shame on ipob and obedients

Keep dreaming.

Caretaker chairmen are illegal, so unless local government elections are conducted, the chairmen are going nowhere.

Let those shameless, quack and corrupt judges go and remove them from office. Cherry picking the constitution.

It is my business as an indigene of Rivers State. Asides that, it is also the business of any citizen of Nigeria or any country in the world, who believes in the rule of law. So perish that thought of business.

Now, you are busy mentioning the names of politicians and former governors, I don't care about that. What does the constitution say about it? They must be elected. What has the supreme court said about it? Caretaker chairmen are unconstitutional. That's all.

Those elected chairmen are going nowhere without an election. The law must be followed.
