In a candid admission of error, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, acknowledged making a mistake in his assessment of Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State.

Speaking at a civic reception for Chief George Thompson Sekibo in Ogu-Bolo, where the celebration marked Sekibo's 36 years of public service, Wike appealed to both God and his political family in Rivers State for forgiveness.

Recognizing the fallibility of human judgment, Wike humbly admitted his misjudgment, expressing his remorse and seeking absolution.

"I want to say this clearly: in life, we make mistakes. I have made a mistake. I own it up and I say God forgive me. I have said all of you forgive me. But we will correct it at the appropriate time," Wike stated.

Despite the misstep, Wike assured his supporters that he remained committed to rectifying the situation in due course.

His pledge to address the mistake at the appropriate time underscores his dedication to accountability and rectitude in governance.

Moreover, Wike emphasized his resolve to continue challenging his detractors, aiming to keep them on their toes.

"I am human. I am bound to make mistakes. So forgive me for making a wrong judgment. So nobody should kill," Wike urged, highlighting the importance of forgiveness and understanding in the face of human fallibility.

Additionally, Wike rallied his supporters in the state assembly, urging them not to yield to intimidation tactics.
