Abia Airport: KPMG Report Not Forensic Investigation, But Process Review— Udensi by Metrix147: 5:00pm On May 15
A renowned forensic investigator and Interpol Systems Consultant, Sir Chikwe Udensi has faulted the report released by Abia State government, which it says is the publication of KPMG on the award of contracts and other financial dealings in the state by the immediate past Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

Featuring on current affairs radio programme, "Open Parliament" monitored by ABN TV, Udensi said the report is not a financial audit or forensic investigation, but rather a process review, which he says has raised questions about the thoroughness of the investigation.

Governor Alex Otti had accused his predecessor of diverting the sum of N10bn meant for the construction of an airport in the state.

He also hired globally renowned audit firm, KPMG to carry out an audit of the financial records of the state, including award of contracts.

"The report identified several instances of contract awards disregarding procurement laws and financial regulations," Sir Chikwe revealed.

"Specifically, it highlighted the award of a contract to a company without following due process, despite the company's admission that it was not in the business of constructing airports."
