The Right Reverend Matthew Kukah, Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese and Founder of the Kukah Centre, emphasized that it would be premature to pass judgment on President Bola Tinubu's government after just one year in office.

During a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa Abuja, Bishop Kukah highlighted the importance of the government effectively communicating its plans to address the current socioeconomic challenges facing Nigeria.

He stressed the need for Nigerians to have a clear understanding of when they can expect relief from the hardships they are currently facing, acknowledging the varying levels of pain experienced by citizens due to policy decisions.

Bishop Kukah underscored the government's responsibility to prioritize the welfare and security of the people, emphasizing that building a better society is a gradual process that requires sustained effort over time.

He expressed optimism for the future, urging a commitment to strengthening the foundations of positive initiatives while acknowledging the complexities of governance and societal development.

Bishop Kukah expressed his belief that Fubara and Wike will resolve the issues in Rivers State amidst the current crisis. He acknowledged that while ordinary people are concerned about the situation, politicians have a way of resolving their conflicts.

Bishop Kukah emphasized that politicians have the capability to address their problems and urged people not to be overly worried when politicians engage in disputes. He expressed his hope and prayers for Rivers State to quickly regain its position and significance within Nigeria.
