The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have expressed disappointment over the Federal Government's proposed minimum wage of #48,000, labeling it as inadequate to meet the needs of Nigerian workers. Joe Ajaero, President of the NLC, and Tommy Etim, Vice President of the TUC, conveyed their discontent during a media conference following the National Minimum Wage Negotiation session in Abuja.

The union leaders criticized the government for failing to provide substantiated data to support their offer, asserting that the lack of transparency and good faith undermines the negotiation process's credibility. They urged the Federal Government to reconsider its stance and approach the negotiation table with a fair proposal that reflects the true value of Nigerian workers' contributions to the nation's development.

This development highlights the ongoing struggle between labor unions and the government regarding fair wages and the socio-economic realities faced by Nigerian workers.
