2.3 billion dollars only for food importation in a nation of 200 million people. That's low. The way fed govt keeps singing about imports, one would think it cost 20 billion dollars 1 Like |

Kelvinofficial: Cardoso problem might be worst than cluelessness But don't even mention Emeifele, everything that one did was just to enrich his boss, friends, associates and himself The funds granted to rice farmers what came out of it, funnily it was these same rice farmers that bought presidency form for Emeifele need i remind you of the decietful rice pyramid Buhari commission .. If Emiefele intervention policies yielded, we won't be in Mess as early as now ... How can you talk of Emiefele that use over 18.9bn to print #684.5m, calling his name is an insult to our intelligence |

Where is this flooding please...? Always looking for what to blame for their blatant failures. The money they are dashing out and stealing can be channelled into mechanised food production but no. That's too much to ask Nigerian government. They rather loot and let the few farmers left to keep suffering with primitive methods of agriculture to feed mil l ions of teeming Nigerians. No be juju be that? Make agriculture attractive, give land and incentives. Simple machinery, trucks and bikes for transportation of agro services. All the graduates of agricultural science. Botany , forestery etc as well as any other interested person should be encouraged and assisted to farm. I hear a paint of garri is now 4500. Farming is attractive now so what are we waiting foe? |

We have to do more to curb the menace. We need massive plantations across all region and a good number of factories to process the produces for sustainable food security and exportation. |

When people heard that bandits were demanding huge sums as ransom from farmers before they can harvest, they shrugged it off or even lambasted the northerners as weak. They forget that the cost will be passed on to the final consumer. The same I don't care attitude as bandits migrated from destroying farms, injuring... to chasing farmers to IDPs. Insecurity is the major elephant in the room. It's something systemically created for a domination agenda, as cited by some security analysts. The solution is no longer simple. But the people have to change their attitude to the problem of Nigeria 1st. The more useful hands on deck, the better now. 1 Like |
