This is to tell you how poorly planned without bidding, EIA or integrity this project is. Tinubu is just cashing out
A road that has started with destruction before even 10is covered is not worth it

We have current road networks that can be developed
The Coastal highway capital project does not stop ongoing maintenance projects.

Just like he did with removing subsidy
and giving the Niger Republic coupists
ultimatum, Tinubu & APC without thinking..

He is commencing the biggest single
project in the history of Nigeria without
approval from Senate or carrying out a
necessary Environmental Impact Assessment.

We may ask, what is the hurry and what
is the economic, social or national benefits
of this project that we are rushing in the
time of a terrible economic outlook for
Nigeria❓❓❓

This could become the biggest white
elephant project in the history of Africa❗️❗️

Nigeria and indeed Nigerians can't
continue to be at the mercy of a fellow
who makes far reaching decisions after
taking mind altering substances💉💊💉💊

Ministry of Works, headed by David Umahi, had engaged some stakeholders but excluded the telecom operators.

“The Ministry of Works has not approached us, and I’m unsure if environmental impact assessments have been conducted. The route is crucial for the landing of numerous submarine cables, so caution is essential.

Did they really think this highway through or it is just a money looting venture?

What past precedence. Like the 2nd Niger bridge or the rail Buhari built all the way to Niger republic?

I can almost guess your tribe correctly because that's the only reason for this bitterness, envy, and jealousy.

It was the bitterness that moved Naira from 199 to 1400 it is today, who is right or wrong so far??
It was the bitterness that made Nigeria to top India of over 1.4 billion people as world poorest capital right??
It was the envy that moved petrol from 180 to 660??
Deep down we know who the enemy of the country is, right now the only thing working in Nigeria is attacking Igbos grin grin

Guess an EIAS was done? Guess the affectation of a critical sector like the telecommunication sector was factor into it? Imagine a breakdown in national and international communication.

Why the has to construct a coastal highway that is going to affect such facility. Why commencing an expensive project without a feasible environmental impact assessment?
Olodo
If at all they will be affected, planned activity will be conducted to solve it, it will have little on no impact, both main and redundancy cant be cut or impacted at the same time.

Even when Government Misfires they hardly admit, this project is nothing but a pure waste with a sure potential of diverting attention from the litany of important roads needing repairs.

Rubbish misplaced priority

Fix the economy. .

Useless leaders.

Use that money to create agricultural farms and produce for exportation . .

Use that money to revive industries such as mineral resources extraction and exportation so that Naira issues can be gradually addressed.

Hmm, is there no current viable road to that place?

The underwater cables are safe, the road is not going under the atlantic. Any telecom mast standing along the right of way would have to be relocated just as Multichoice's infrastructure was relocated. These are teething challenges which cause for no alarm. Lagos-Calabar, Sokoto-Badagry, Enugu-Ogoja-Cameroon road projects have come to stay, not even Bitter Obi and his headless mob can stop them.

Leave the assessments for people with a proper education, because you don't sound like one. No offense. wink

This is why you need to carry out various impact assessments and give time for adjustments.

This coastal road is in serious debate right now,
Wise counsel says stop the white elephant project,
political jobbers are chanting go on with the project, and constantly insulting everyone that offers wise advice.
Tomorrow when the realities of the failure, and losses the project will cause begins to manifest the same political cheer leaders will begin to chant OBI would have done the same.
A word is a enough for the wise.

They're referring to masts And optic fibre cables. Not everyone clamouring for proper things to be done is bitter.

Every construction project has risk, and I am happy they themselves mentioned mitigation.
You guys don't even know when to shut up

The minister for works came out to claim EIA was done. Now we're hearing telcos subsea cable might be affected which was obviously not factored in and you're here saying rubbish about mitigation.

You clowns have no limit to your buffoonery

This is not a big deal. It happens time and time during road constructions and adjustment will be done on the part of Telcos.

All this noise about this project is nauseating. Not like the noise will make FG stop or so why are these guys just wasting their time wailing?

That project will proceed. A million wailing can’t and won’t stop it.
Another ignorant one. You are obviously ignorant of the difference between subsea cable and mainland cable.

So much for Masters degree in engineering

A simple indication of where the cables here should avert any shutdown. These just looking for unnecessary attention and blowing up a mole into a mountain.
Even if there will be disruption in some service, the telcos should plan ahead and make alternative arrangements.

You don't stop projects because of potential issues, that's part of project planning. You identify potential hiccups and plan accordingly.

That's why you have project Managers, that's a big part of Project Management.
So why are you asking telcos to plan ahead? We're they part of the project planning for the road?
