EFCC resumes raid on BDC operators after war against crypto fails to save naira fall

A BDC operator at Wuse Zone 4, Abuja’s currency exchange hub, confirmed EFCC’s raid to Peoples Gazette.

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday resumed raids on bureau de change operators in Abuja as naria dipped against the dollar.

A BDC operator at Wuse Zone 4, Abuja’s currency exchange hub, confirmed EFCC’s raid to Peoples Gazette.

“EFCC people are here!” he said.

“Na EFCC. Them come here two times. Carry people money,” another BDC operator at the scene told The Gazette.

Today’s raid comes as another episode since the EFCC started raiding BDC operations nationwide in a bid to stabilise the naira.

Last week, the anti-graft agency paraded over 20 BDC operators arrested in Abuja.

On claims that BDC operators aid currency speculators damaging naira, the anti-graft agencies have continued to raid BDC operators since February.

this will keep happening until they start doing the right thing by giving people grants for business. EFCC and CBN policy can never fix the economy but a producing Nigeria can. Instead of printing cash and embezzling, why not print them and give to 100,000 individuals in every state to do business (as china does for its citizens) then regulate them and see how the economy fix itself?

Leaving the right things and be chasing shadows can't save the economy. We need more brain in productivity.

You cannot keep printing cash where there's no proof that your economy has grown enough to require more cash. That's the major cause of inflation around the world now.

Governments were desperately printing money and paying their citizens when they were locked up at homes during COVID-19. Money was not exchanged for any goods and services. Today, everyone is paying the price of inflation. Too much money is chasing few goods.

It's even a good thing that many governments printed money and paid their people. In Nigeria, our leaders printed and looted it. Today, everyone is paying the high price of inflation for something we didn't even enjoy.

The EFCC should focus on the politicians. They are our biggest problems. Nigeria doesn't print the USD. Trail the USD that comes into the country and where it is spent/hoarded.

Running from pillar to post.

Tinubu can check the effects of his policies by developing a simulated model.

The model will be Nigeria itself and would work based on the known statistics of Nigerian population and current realities.

Deploying high level data analysis and AI will give him better picture of the effects of any policies if implemented real-time.

He should for once believe in statistics even if no be watin him wan chop.

Let them keep chasing after the winds instead of going after the people that plundered nigeria's common wealth which has made nigeria to be using 96% of it's revenues for debt servicings.

you're correct. But instead of looting the printed cash why don't they give it to people to do business (it helped China, it can help us)? That's my point.
