John Ikechukwu Okafor, born October 17, 1961, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, is a Nigerian actor and comedian. Okafor is considered one of the most talented and highest paid comedy personalities in Nigeria.
His humorous performances are often characterized by silly, comical characters and a severe disconnection from reality, He was born in Nkanu West LGA, Enugu State.
After Okafor graduated from primary school in 1974, his father died and he moved to Sapele to live with his brother. In Sapele, he worked menial jobs so he could support himself at school and support his family.
Later, he worked as a hairdresser, became interested in photography and worked for a company that manufactured crates.
After finishing high school, he was admitted to Yola College of Education but dropped out due to financial difficulties. Later, as soon as he was financially able, he enrolled at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu.
He has appeared in over 200 Nollywood films, including Mr. Ibu (2004), Mr. Ibu and His Son, Coffin Producers, Husband Suppliers, International Players, Mr.Ibu in London (2004), Police recruit (2003) “9 Wives” (2005), “Ibu in Prison” (2006) and many other hits, which earned him the title of “Mr. ibu” “.
