.....as Ogun top politician's daughter marries from Edo

The Ogun State Coordinator of Omoilu Foundation, Otunba(Comrade) Niyi Osoba at the weekend in Ijebu Ode enjoined Nigerians to inter-marry in order to foster greater national cohesion.

Osoba made the call at the wedding reception of his daughter, Dr. Omobolanle Atinuke Osoba and Mr. Oluwatosin Omoruyi from Edo State.

Addressing the couple at the ceremony which took place at the Christ Church Hall, Ijebu ode, Osoba told the couple that the secrets of marriage were patience, fear of God and respect for each other.

According to him, marriage is significant as it symbolises harmony, peace and unity.

“An ideal Marriage complements the peaceful co-existence the government at all levels have been clamouring for. To further achieve unity and growth in this country, our children must inter- marry’’, he added.

Senator Buruji Kashamu was the Chairman of the welding reception.He was represented by the former Chairman of Ijebu North local government Area, Otunba Leke Adekoya.The cutting of the wedding cake was handled by Oba Isiaka Ajede, the Ogirimadagbo of Ilodo kingdom while Royal blessing was given by Oba Dr. Alatishe, the Gbegande of Ososa

The event was highly attended by eminent Nigerians, among whom were; the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State at the last election, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, the PDP Chairman in Ogun State, Engineer Bayo Dayo, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Engineer Isiaka Ajede, the Ogirimadagbo of Ilodo kingdom, the Alaiyeluwa, Oba Dr.Toye Alatishe, the Gbegande of Ososa, Professor Alaba Adenuga, the Dean, Faculty of Education, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Alhaji Agboola Alausa, A former house of representatives member and senior legislative aide to senator Kashamu, Hon.Onadeko Onamusi, the MD/CEO of Wesco lotto, Otunba Moses Osinubi, the Baba Egbe Bobagunte Okunrin Asiwaju Akile Ijebu, Otunba Alex Onabanjo, the women leader of Omoilu Foundation in Ogun State, Otunba Remi Odubote, the chairman of PDP in Ogun East senatorial district, Hon. Daisi Akintan and the PDP women leader in Ogun State, Chief Mrs. Oluremi OluSoji.

Others present were the Ogun East Coordinator of Omoilu Foundation, Hon. Folarin Akintunde, the organising secretary of PDP in Ogun State, Otunba Koye Ijaduoye, Otunba Segun Odusole, the former chairman of Bariga Local government Area, Hon. Akeem Sulaimon Oris, Chief M. A.Okusajo, Barrister and Mrs. Niyi Uthman and many eminent politicians, serving and retired government functionaries as well as others from all walks of life.

I think sometimes leaders get carried away and yearn rubbish. Just because his child marries into Edo now people should start marrying other tribes. Nonsense from this elder.

People should marry into other cultures with shared value system, not for national cohesion.
