when I first came to Abuja, I noticed that there was a huge gap in the available taxis and the number of passengers on the road. But thankfully, I noticed that alot of private car owners would carry passengers who are going along their destinations, such as Banex, wuse, nicon junction, area 1, garki, AYA, secretariat etc
Now, a taxi driver survives by carrying passengers here and there, so in this era of fuel scarcity, it is understandable that since they have to share their market with private car owners, and pay their dues, as well as the cost of fuel, they may increase their fare from 200 to 250 per trip.
But you, yes you that have a 9 - 5 claiming to be a big man, insisting that we must enter your car with our change, why did you increase yours as well? abi you don join road transport workers ni? abi you bought your tickets this morning ni?
You all should stop being bloody greedy. and behave yourselves. until agboro start to catch una and ask for your members card, una no go calm down, at least so that when they catch you, your passengers can quickly claim friends and family.

First it is your government that owes you subsidized and efficient transport system, they are only helping and the decision to be cheaper or FOC is totally at their discretion.

But you, yes you that have a 9 - 5 claiming to be a big man, insisting that we must enter your car with our change, why did you increase yours as well? abi you don join road transport workers ni? abi you bought your tickets this morning ni?

- They also have to buy the same fuel at the same price.
- They have the same car maintenance cost and they're probably more frequent and expensive.

In fact, the public transport workers are better than the private car owners as they have more daily turnover. The private car owner has just two shifts, one in the morning while going to work and the other when returning.

On the Pros;
- They give you luxury at the same price. I reckon most won’t suddenly switch off their AC and inconvenience themselves because they picked you up.

- They ensure you are not sandwiched between a mechanic and alata (no disrespect intended). Meaning, they will most likely pick working class or like minded people.

- For Lagosians, they don’t put you through the stress of jumping in and off a moving vehicle. A grace you do not enjoy in danfo.

- They are safer as they are not usually driving under the influence of paraga and monkey tail.

- You get to your destination faster as they have fewer passengers, thus fewer drops.

If you ask me, increase in fuel price or not, they should be more expensive.

Okay, someone said hackney permit would suffice.

It's because of people like you that made me resolve not to carry passengers.

I go to work everyday in a 7 passenger car,but I can't can't pick passenger for fear of the unknown.

1. I have laptops and other computer gadgets that can easily be stollen or damaged by passenger who will not even feel remorse when that happens rather they will remind you that you did not carry them free

2. I fear passengers like you breaking my door handle or spoiling my car but will say after all I paid you..the ride was not free.

It pains my heart that I pass alot of good passengers at various junction but I can't carry them because of bad passengers like you.

Each time I pass any junction or bus stop ,I only look to see if I will see faces I know , when I see such people I gladly help them free of charge..at least it's better than one bad passengers reminding me how I am not a taxi driver but still collecting same amount..

Bros.... you have to change this your mentality ,it's not gonna do you any good.
Last Last ...you buy your own car and carry passengers for less amount or you do charity.

Terrible experience, I once picked up a pregnant woman from gwagwalada to area 1 out of pity because she was holding two children Nd there was crowd. Funny enough I always have biscuits in my car. Gave these children, dropped them, gave the woman 1k only to discover she stole my second phone. Called Nd called and had to trace the phone. Caught her Nd only collected my phone ( she had done factory reset Nd thrown away the sim). Since that day, even if na dying person, God knows I won't even stop.

The Op should understand they both buy fuel at the same price and their cars are more comfy than most taxis on the Road.
