Media personality, Sally Suleiman, has caused quite a stir on the internet after she claim that a wedding that costs N10 million is not a big wedding.

In a tweet, Sally opined that N10 million is not enough to finance a big wedding in Nigeria considering the present reality and it’s for people in ‘middle class trenches’.

According to her, she planned a family member’s wedding with a budget of N10 million in 2014 and it didn’t do much, talk less of now. She tweeted, “10million naira in today’s world is not a big wedding.

I would describe it as the people who are in middle class trenches. I can break that 10million naira down for you as someone who planned a fam’s wedding with 10million in 2014 and it was nothing fantastic, not to talk of now.”

Following the reactions that trailed her tweet, Sally gave a breakdown of how she would spend #10 million for a wedding to back her point.

N10 million naira wedding in 2014, not fantastic?

Mad oh! 😨😰

This kind of standard set by “influencers” contributes so much to the rot we see among our younger ones, especially the ladies.

It's all relative to your net worth and not a standard.

Dangote can say such, but Okon cannot!

We wish the audience can understand, as you’ve done.

But we both know it’s most likely not so, but will be seen by a huge number of her followers as a “standard”. 😟

That won't be a problem, if she contributes 50% of that amount on her wedding.

Her calculation on that page shows 5,280,000.00 naira. She still has 4,720,000.00 naira that she couldn't explain how it would be spent out of the proposed 10m.

Sometimes I wonder if these people actually know what they are saying.

Ten million might actually be the amount spent by some people in the middle class on a wedding. But, it's not a standard. She herself couldn't explain how a wedding would gulp 10m. Just trying to pressure people unnecessarily.

She stated the fact, ten million naira is not enough for a big wedding in this economy. A wedding is a memorable occasion, and most people prefer big weddings; some people save towards their wedding. It is better to cut your coat according to your size and stay within your limit. If you can't afford an elaborate wedding, opt for a small wedding. Don't borrow money and accumulate unnecessary debt. A small wedding is still a wedding.

I'm not an event planner, but when you sit to calculate the estimate to finance "Big Nigerian Wedding", then you will know that 20m sef will be a Very tight budget...
Big weddings entrails but not limited to..
*Standard Event Hall for dignitaries
*Cakes by highly recommended professional bakers
*Interior decorating
*Sounds and lightening
*MCs
*Artistes
*Professional Caterers with assorted dishes...
