New information is coming to light regarding the political crisis in Rivers State, as Edison Ehie, the Chief of Staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, sheds more light on the reasons behind the strained relationship between Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike.

According to Ehie, the issue in Rivers State began when a small group of political leaders sought to have exclusive control over the state's resources.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service for the governor's Supreme Court victory, Ehie warned that Fubara is capable of teaching his opponents a political lesson.

He revealed that 11 individuals initially planned to control the resources of Rivers State, and then enlisted the support of 20 others to allocate resources to themselves.

The celebration of Fubara's victory at the Supreme Court in Ahoada East Local Government Area was marked by jubilation, with people from all walks of life coming together to show their support.

The event included a church service, during which the preacher urged Governor Fubara to remain dedicated to serving humanity.

Following the service, the focus shifted to politics, with community leaders, women, youth groups, and loyalists from the 13 political wards dancing in support of Governor Fubara.

State lawmakers who back Fubara, led by newly elected Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo, pledged their support for his success. Edison Ehie, speaking on behalf of Governor Fubara, hinted at the political tensions between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

He cautioned that even though Fubara is young, he possesses the ability to impart a political education to his rivals. "We will educate them on political calculations. Once that young man takes action against you, you will realize that experience matters," Ehie declared.

The focal point of the event was the distribution of N200,000 to 65 entrepreneurs running small businesses, along with N500,000 to each of the 13 coordinators of the Simplified Movement by the Chief of Staff.
