In a candid and emotional interview on ABN TV's "Crush Wednesday", popular TV presenter Chinyere Umahi shed light on the often-overlooked issues of domestic violence and emotional abuse.

Umahi emphasized the fragility of emotions, particularly for women, and how constant criticism, insults, and name-calling can erode an individual's self-esteem and leave deep emotional wounds.

Umahi also addressed the alarming rise of domestic violence, urging viewers to take action and support survivors.

"It's something we all have to look into... everywhere you see a man hitting a woman, giving her wounds and all that. We have to talk about it, and everyone has to have knowledge about it," she said.

The live broadcast sparked a nationwide conversation, with many calling for greater awareness, support, and action against domestic violence and emotional abuse.

The Nigerian government has announced plans to launch a nationwide campaign against domestic violence, including increased funding for support services and hotlines.

Community-led initiatives and support groups are also springing up across the country, with many calling for greater awareness and action against domestic violence. The United Nations and Amnesty International have praised Umahi's efforts, calling for global action against domestic violence.

What's the meaning of feminism again?

Domestic and emotional violence is pure evil that should be spoken against at any given opportunity.

Domestic violence is not gender based.

Anyone coming online to talk ONLY about a man hitting a woman is a frustrated feminist!

Domestic violence is not gender based. Agreed!!!

But you'd agree with me, the ratio is not balanced. Women are grossly at the receiving end.

The men should come out more and speak out. Abi the women should speak up for them too

Nigeria feminism is NOT about being Independent or Dependent. It's about a group of old bittered úgly looking women coming together to fight men cos they're not getting much attention from same men.

Have you seen a young beautiful feminist in Nigeria before? Use Nairaland as a case study.
