Payment Method used in Facebook and Instagram Ads Billing


Postpaid Billing
Postpaid billing allows advertisers to run their ad campaigns and accrue ad charges over a specified period.

At the end of the billing cycle, Facebook automatically debit the credit card attached to the Ads ACC detailing the total amount owed for the ad spend incurred during that period.


Key features of postpaid billing include:

1. Flexibility: Advertisers have the flexibility to run their ad campaigns without needing to prepay for ad credits. They can adjust their campaign budgets and objectives throughout the billing cycle as needed.

2. Consolidated Billing: Postpaid billing provides advertisers with consolidated monthly invoices, making it easier to track ad spend and manage payments.

3. Payment Options: Advertisers can choose from various payment methods to settle their invoices, including credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and automatic payments (direct debit).

4. Credit Limits:Facebook may set credit limits for advertisers using postpaid billing, based on factors such as the advertiser's credit history and ad account performance.


Prepaid Billing

Prepaid billing, on the other hand, requires advertisers to prepay for ad credits before launching their ad campaigns.

Advertisers add funds to their ad accounts, and the ad spend is deducted from the prepaid balance as their campaigns run. When the prepaid balance runs low, advertisers need to add more funds to continue running their campaigns.

Key features of prepaid billing include:

1. Control:Advertisers have full control over their ad spend and can set a specific budget by preloading their ad account with funds.

2. No Invoices: Since advertisers prepay for ad credits, there are no monthly invoices to settle. Advertisers manage their ad spend directly by adding funds to their prepaid balance as needed.

3. Budget Management: Prepaid billing allows advertisers to easily manage their campaign budgets and track expenses in real-time, as the ad spend is deducted from the prepaid balance.

4. No Credit Checks: Prepaid billing does not typically require credit checks or credit limits, as advertisers are funding their ad accounts upfront.

Ultimately, The Nigerian CBN Policy disabled the postpaid payment method so paying for Ads.
Hence we are limited to the use of Prepaid method for our Nigerian debit card or We opt for virtual dollar Cards or Dollar card in General to Run A postpaid method Ads account.

Some advertisers may prefer the flexibility of postpaid billing, while others may opt for the control and simplicity of prepaid billing. Facebook offers both options to accommodate a wide range of advertisers and business needs.
