jackmrandy:@Jackmrandy I wrote the story. How much is involved? 15k She told me she's going through it with her senior editors... In the screenshot, I was asking her what's up with the story, like I was asking for an update. She kept telling me she'll give me a surer response until she ghosted. The story was submitted by me, but she refused to fulfill her part |
Where do we report scammers on Nairaland? Please someone should let me know... |

The wild chatterings are faint as you sit at the back in the first row of desks, lost in thoughts. It's your first day in Grade seven and you're not exhibiting excitement as the rest of the students in the classroom. No, not even a vague expression of delight. You don't even take a glimpse, there's no curiosity. There's an intro of everyone in the class in the absence of the teacher so they are wondering why you seem withdrawn. You sit, face to paper, hand to pen. You begin scrambling words on paper, you are not a writer, they do not actually make sense because only you can understand them. Afterall, they are your thoughts unexpressed properly. No one's actually brave enough to walk up to you and ask what's wrong. Y'all are just newbies or perhaps debutants in this level of education. Only the teacher who walks in and notices your absent mindedness amidst the positive energy filling the atmosphere. She approaches you, taking a peep at whatever you're writing. It's not clear but she knows you're trying to compose a poem. She's more surprised because you people are West Africans, and it's very rare to see a West African Kid imbibed in something as creative as poetry, so much that he seems disjointed from reality. She then assumes there must be a sad drive to this. The writing, the quietness, and she isn't far from correct. Appreciating your work, she asks you to focus on reality, she tells you to prioritize everything. Maybe that's the first lesson you're learning in grade seven. You are a boy but your problems are all grown, so you wonder if it'll be possible to do as she says.... In the breezy evening When the nightingales chirp When they flap their wings as if to fly away Reality sets in that moment A second for an hour A breeding ground , For the nostalgia feelings Yearning for that serenity, Like an addict for some sativa Maybe I need rehabilitation Rehabilitation to enjoy pain? I sit as witness, my heart as the defendant And my brain keeps judging, Chiding every inch me I read meaning, In the lyrics of the nightingales I sit still - tranquil But the within is in turmoil It quakes internally I'm okay I say But isn't that only on the surface?... Wow, a reminder that we are humans. Do not judge someone's life by a single action, do not erase good just for a single error

It was thirty minutes into our first lecture of the day and I still couldn't keep my blazing eyes in check. I kept mesmerizing myself with the beauty of Jane and worst still, the blue dress she was adorned in which revealed a bit of her smooth glittering thigh. "African beauty at its prime," was the phrase that kept coming to mind. She geared her face towards me and I looked away in…, well, I'm not so sure what I should call it. She maintained the stare for about half a minute. During that time, my anxiety built up and I began to release the saline liquid from my skin spores. I didn't even realize I was approaching the edge of my chair and my friends were waiting to watch me fall off. I usually didn't fall for pretty faces but this was 'beauty with brains.' She always had an idea despite the question or problem posed. My friends have been pushing for it, but I wouldn't approach her because I belonged to the lower class of the society. The lecture was over and as her department prepared to depart from mine, I heard a soft chill down the spine voice: "Excuse me." The level of ecstasy I felt was beyond what one can comprehend. Jane was standing behind me, and the warm, gentle, charming smile she gave sent me to a universe different from ours. I needed to compose myself, I already heard she hated guys who acted as womanizers. "I'm Jane," she said, extending her hands for a hand shake. "Maybe I should just kiss it," I thought to myself. But then, I dismissed those thoughts. "I'm Nazareth," I replied as I held her soft aesthetic hand which resembled that of my Disney love - Cinderella. I didn't have to wonder why she approached me because she was concise and straight to the point as always. "I need you to help me out with my Chemistry assignment," she said. But I wasn't even sure I was more than an average student. Maybe it was because the lecturer had said I scored more than an eighth percent in his test which was a record while she managed only a sixty. It looked like my luck was about to shine and I was having my moment. The other boys kept staring, probably wondering why she approached me. My friends were likely feeling my moment more than I was. I agreed to be of help, afterall it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Things got better when she said the lesson would be held at her home. The rumors about her parents not always being in town, and her house being so big and comfortable was something I began hoping was true, especially the initial. "So can I get your number?" She asked. I was not gonna waste a moment. I gave her and even made sure she tried it to avoid mistakes. Then she walked out with her friends. I was all smiles like an eighteen years old girl being brainwashed with fake promises. However, the excitement I felt killed whatever appetite I was having. The day would eventually come, and I felt intimidated standing before her mansion gate. I had to call her to come get the gate for me, I was still having doubts that she'll be home alone. She was as excited as I was upon seeing me, maybe even more excited. She walked me in, straight up to her room. Her room was like the imitation of her beauty, pure vintage. But I was baffled as I didn't see any book on her table or bed. "Where are your materials for learning?" I inquired. "What materials? What learning?" She replied. I reminded her of the lesson we were to have and then she said she didn't remember. I was now confused, at the same excited. I've watched scenes like this in movies, and if I was thinking correctly, there were a lot of goodies in store for me. "I've seen how you look at me, the way you get lost in me," she said as she leaned closer. I used the opportunity to open up about my feelings and I also expressed my interest in her. I thought she was going to get furious even if she was giving me a greenlight. Contrary to that, she kept smiling and suddenly she kissed me. It was like heaven on Earth, two worlds intertwining. "Jane, are you…are y…," I struggled to speak because of excitement. She hushed me by placing her finger on my lips. Then, she went down on me and began losing my belts. In no time, my d*ck was galloping in her mouth, and she kept doing this for more than five minutes. Then she said : "It's your turn, boy." I was excited, it would be my first time eating a girl out. She lowered me to my knees, took off her gown slowly as I kept salivating. Suddenly, I spotted the treasure underneath her clothe "What?! A d**k? Freak!" I screamed as I ran out the door. Shall our love flow endlessly just as the river till the end of time Shall our pure souls share the tides as our hearts keep in rhyme Shall we continue to blossom around this aesthetic feeling with your sweet scenting fragrance filling my nose With your face so bright like an Angel's and your smiles as charming as the rose Need your arms wrapped around me as you wipe my tears and take me away I'll pray that this memory becomes a lifetime as I hope it's not dying today Shall you still smile upon me and purify my soul just as the dews forerun the dawn Shall our souls strike an accord and our hearts be tied like the day and the sun... The jink of her unexpected "No" sent an abrupt look of shock throughout his blissful face. He was right there on his knees, surrounded by family and friends. Being confused would seem as not so the right word to use. They've had no issues since their 3years of courtship. Moreover she had been pushing for this, and now she unhesitantly turned him down? Her parents rushed out after her as they also got a share in the shock. This was all happening around 6pm on a showery Wednesday evening. Paul was still right there with a knee still impressed on the floor staring sharply into thin air in a transfixed state. With some words of comfort he was able to stand on his feet which was probably stiffened from the declination from Stephanie. The look on his face posed the question "why?" When he got home he called severally but it seemed she intentionally avoided his calls. This was a young man climbing his way through the hurdles of life, he wasn't earning enough but he felt love should augment for it. He finally received the answer he was pushing for when she knocked his door around 7@m the following morning. She made it clear to him that she can't spend her life with someone who's not even certain of his next meal. She left him with another round of shock. It appeared like a streak of pain. He vowed to be a success someday. Months passed by, then years. Finally he was the man he dreamt to be. He was finally feeling fulfilled but not entirely; he wanted his ex to see him for what He has become but there was no certainty of them ever crossing paths again because since the last five years they haven't met, neither had he seen her parents. On a faithful Monday morning, he manned up and drove right to his ex's family house to show off himself and rub his success on their faces. Just as he had anticipated he met only her parents. "Probably she'd be married," he thought to himself. Luckily her parents agreed to take him to her after much persuasion. They got into his car and after 20 minutes of driving through the roads, they stopped by a cemetery. He became confused but he didn't utter a word. Then he found himself standing beside a grave written " Madu Stephanie Greg." His heart sunk, he was inquisitive to know what had happened. Well, she rejected his proposal not because she felt he wasn't good enough, but because she was critically Ill and didn't want to add to his burden as she always knew he had a bright future. She died 6 months after severing ties with him. Uncontrollably, the saline liquid from his eyes decorated his chicks. He had been planning revenge for so long for someone who wanted nothing but the best for him. There was nothing he could do now but weep silently. Stephanie’s mom then reached out for her handbag. She brought out a letter Stephanie wrote just a few weeks to her death, and she had wanted Paul to have it. He couldn’t even have a firm grip of it, his hands were shaky and his body filled with terror. It read : “With tears I pen down these words and with fright I weep for our memories…If you ever receive this any day it’ll mean I’m already gone so I apologize now for leaving you when you needed me the most but you must know that I never for once stopped praying for you… promise to inscribe on your heart forever – our memories. “ Once more, his face was all gloomy, once more, another sad day. #copyrighted PS: if you're looking for a creative writer for poems, fiction and nonfiction, script and content writing, proofreading and editing, please contact me : Mobile/WhatsApp no: +2347062017429 Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089252896424 |
