Sports › Re: Morocco Vs Senegal: AFCON 2025 Finals (0 - 1) On 18th January 2026 by 0Brien: 8:34pm On Jan 18 |
Wotowotoman: If only Naija played Morocco like this instead of just sitting back and letting Morocco attack and attack them 🤧😢 Once they face pressure, they crumble. I don't know when we'll ever be the team giving the pressure in the final stages. Always the one receiving attacks, waiting for penalty kicks to save us.

Angelfrost: Mtchewww.
At the end, the results matter more than quality.
Like this, we even stand the risk of leaving the tournament empty-handed.
After showing so much promise and playing quality since the group stages. We've just been playing weak teams ever since. If we met Ivory Coast, South Africa, or Senegal earlier we would have crashed out. |

In this and previous tournaments, every final stage matches we've played, we're always the team absorbing all the attack and pressure from the opponent, pushed to playing defence. When are we ever going to be the side giving the pressure?
With the way Nigeria played against Morroco, they wouldn't have survived the onslaught of Senegal in the final, because Senegal plays ruthlessly like Morocco, and like Ivory Coast in the last AFCON.
Nigeria has not learned to play that kind of high-pressure football. They don't match fire with fire. Every time, it feels like all the other teams want to win the trophy more than us. We're just waiting for luck or penalties. |

Why aren't they running into strategic positions to receive a pass instead of waiting for it to come to them where they are?
You can see that an opponent is marking you already and you still stand there expecting a pass |
